The New Guy

~Ashlynn's POV~

After winter break, I walked into school, non- stop showing all my friends the promise ring Hunter got me. When Hunter walked down the hallway he winked at me so I smiled.

"So who's the lucky man?" Briar asked. "Umm... that's for me to know and for you not to know!" I whisper while pulling my hand away, then I forgot mine and Hunter's knew signal.

"Um, bye guys! Got to go!" I shouted while running down the hall. I ran outside and to the back of school, only to find Hunter sitting on a bench.

"Hey, handsome." I whisper. Hunter turns around and smiles. "Well hello, beautiful." He responds. We both blush and I sit next to him. "So why did you call me?" I curiously ask.

Hunter clenches his fists and his teeth. "Cornelius." He grunts. I look at him and he tried to call down. "Who's that?" I worriedly recalled. "He's this new guy from Florida. He takes every guy's girlfriend." He madly replied.

I sat up and gulped. "He knows how to get girls like you under his spell... I just don't want anything to happen to you okay?"

I frowned and nodded my head. "Don't worry Hunter, I promised that I would love you know matter what." I kissed Hunter's cheek and walked away almost fearful, of what could happened.

Yeah I was happy, but that was fake. I didn't want to make Hunter more upset than he already was. I should at least try to keep him happy and follow his orders. I guess.

Hunter's POV:

For one second, I never trusted Cornelius. He moved here the day before winter break and in just one day he convinced Julie Kins to be his girlfriend, when she was dating someone else.

That guy was weird. Why would he steal someone's girl, and then dump them the next day? But I had a feeling inside me, I knew that he wouldn't dump Ashlynn, because he'd think she's a unique girl to use for some sort of plan he has.

"Hello, Hunter." I jumped and turned around. Only to see Cornelius with a devilsh face on. "What do you want?!" I snarled. I looked at my hands and they started to clench up.

"Woah. No need to start a fight here, but isn't that Ashlynn?" He asked curiously. I nodded my head and he smiled. "Oh... she's cute. Is that your girlfriend?" My fists clenched even more and my teeth start to rub together.

"Listen you punk! Don't you dare go even one inch close to my girl, because I will hurt you! If you try to steal her from me, I won't even hesitate to kill you." I evily shout.

Cornelius smiled and I held my fist up and someone grabbed it from behind. I turned around and Ashlynn was there.  I calmed down and let go of Cornelius's shirt.

"Hey Hunter? Can I talk to sweet pie over here?" I get mad and punch Cornelius in the face. He fell to the floor and I walk away steaming with anger, Ashlynn not following behind.

I turn around and look at her. She looks at me and crosses her arms. I grew fierce with anger and yell at her for the first time.

"Fine! If you fell under his spell, then don't talk to me ever again! I care about you and your obviously too stupid to see that, so goodbye, Ashlynn..!"

I storm away with tears streaming down my face and a grumpy attitude. I can't believe Ashlynn betrayed me like that! She had her ring, how could she do this to me?! Why would she do this to me?!
