(POV: NAHYUTA)

Nahyuta paced around the small area between his bed and desk, waiting to meet the new bodyguard he'd hired yesterday. He still didn't believe it was entirely essential but Mother and Father had insisted. In order to make a good impression on this man, he'd dragged his best outfit out of the back of his closet and brushed and re-braided his hair at least four or five times. If Nahyuta had to pick a guard, then Simon Blackquill had most certainly been the right choice, though he had to wonder; what would he think of him? Nahyuta jumped when someone pounded on the door.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" he shouted, running over to the door and opening it shyly as the person kept pounding. Through the crack he saw a rather large man with long black hair- other than a large white patch in his bangs. Nahyuta giggled to himself, he looked like a panda.

"What are you laughing at? Doesn't the prince have better things to do than laugh at his new guard?" the man said, pounding his fist against the door again.

"You know, there's no need for you to knock any longer, panda. I have already opened the door for you." Nahyuta said, gesturing to the open door, the pristine paint now scratched a little from Simon's insistent knocking.

"What did you just call me?" He sounded angry, he could go places with this. He decided to provoke him a bit more. Nahyuta oh so rarely got to talk to people as interesting as the man before him now.

"Exactly what you are... a panda." He jabbed my finger into his chest as if to make a point.

"You expect me to want to guard after you insult me like that?" he spat, pounding his fist against the door again.

"Of course, you have no choice. It's your job after all." Nahyuta said, shrugging and turning his back to Simon Blackquill. If he was going to be rude, then so was he.

"You infuriating little man."

"How dare you?!" he shouted, instantly spinning back around, "do you know who the hell I am?!"

"Of course I do, but you aren't acting much like a prince right now, therefore you don't deserve my respect. I'll treat you like I would anybody else."

"If you had friends, I'm sure they'd find you deplorable. I've barely just met you and already I hate you, imagine how people who've known you longer feel."

"I could say the same to you, Your Royal Highness." Would it kill this man to treat him a little bit better? Nahyuta was his prince after all, he had to show him respect.

"Since we clearly don't like each other, I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement here," Nahyuta said, leaning against the door. We were barely inches apart in both distance and height, but he was sure both of them wanted the other much much farther away, "you can just stay outside the door and I'll stay in here. You will not talk to me. Unless, of course, I have someone over, then you may bless me with your surely wonderful presence."

"The less I have to see your despicable face, the better." He turned, slamming the door shut behind him. Nahyuta hadn't been expecting the man to be this intolerable. Seriously... what was his problem?

In the afternoon, Nahyuta's dearest friend made his day considerably better by coming to his room to have tea with him. And sadly, Nahyuta's new guard trailed in the room after Apollo. His friend looked so tiny next to someone as big as Simon Blackquill. He nodded hello to Simon, his eyes widening in shock for a second before he shook it off. Nahyuta was sure he was just surprised to see someone other than himself enter the room. Apollo took the seat across from the prince as usual, his eyes locked in contact with Simon's.
