Nahyuta watched as Simon got kidnapped by the small ginger girl, her dragging him to a nearby hallway. They seemed to get into a heated discussion, with her stomping away after about five minutes only to run back again to drag Simon back into the reception hall. She pushed him towards Nahyuta, whispering some sort of command in his ear. Simon turned a bright tomato red, bowing before him.
"I... uh... would you like to dance with me Nahyuta?" he sputtered out, holding out his hand towards Nahyuta. Miss Cykes smirked from behind him as he grabbed his hand, silently accepting his offer. If he hadn't just accepted quietly, proper words wouldn't have been able to come out of his mouth. They began to awkwardly dance and out of the corner of his eye, Nahyuta saw Apollo laughing and giving Miss Cykes a pat on the back, probably congratulating her for getting us to dance together. Why did he have such dumb friends?
"Simon... why did you... ask me?" Nahyuta asked quietly, barely able to get the words out. It's not like he wasn't happy or anything, he'd just always had trouble expressing himself.
"I don't know... you looked kind of bored."
"Well, you guess right then. I'm sort of surprised how good of a dancer you are..." They managed to get through the rest of the dance in silence, both of them blushing wildly.

The reception continued long after the sun had gone down and as Nahyuta got bored again, he wandered out to the balcony. There were so many people that he just needed a breath of fresh air. It had been quite some time since he'd been around this many people, Klavier had a lot of friends. Simon was busy trying to get his friend to chill, so he couldn't talk to him to distract myself from my boredom. Apollo joined him out on the balcony soon after he went out there.
"You and Simon look good together." he teased, elbowing Nahyuta playfully in the side. He shoved him away, his face turning bright red.
"Nahyuta... I've been wondering for a while. Why did you free Simon from prison and why did you then choose him as your bodyguard?"
"Apollo... would you take 'I don't know' as an answer?"
"You've got a reason, I know you. You don't do anything without a reason."
"Fine... at first, I was drawn to his name on a sheet of paper, it stood out to me. And as for why I picked him to be my guard..." Nahyuta reached into his pocket, digging out the piece of paper that he'd gotten from the fortune teller and passing it to Apollo, "I was searching for some clarity about that."
"What is it?" Apollo asked as he unfolded the paper. It wouldn't take him long to read it... it was only one word... one name, "what's this supposed to mean Nahyuta?" He shoved the paper back at Nahyuta, the now familiar handwriting of Mia Fey across the middle.
"I got it from a fortune teller, it's supposedly the name of my soulmate..." he sighed, leaning against the balcony rail. The moon was pretty tonight. Apollo started laughing, leaning his head back as he stared up at the sky.
"Well how many Simons do we know? Make your move Nahyuta."
"Apollo... I couldn't..." Nahyuta said, rubbing the back of his neck in one of his many nervous ticks.
"Why not?"
"While I do... love Simon, I fear that he doesn't feel the same way about me." Apollo laughed again.
"I hope everything works out for you. I wouldn't want to see my little brother sad." He walked off towards Klavier, going to help Simon deal with the drunken man. Nahyuta trailed after him, walking over to Simon. He felt awkward now, his face was all red.
"I can't help but wonder who the next lucky couple will be..." Klavier muttered drunkenly from the floor, giving Simon a pointed glare.
"You're drunk." Simon said, kicking him in the stomach. Apollo knelt down, helping Klavier stand up.
"I should probably take him home..."
"You're so sweet Herr Forehead..." Klavier said softly, touching a gentle hand to Apollo's cheek.
"Ugh! Don't call me that! Come on we're leaving before you do anything more stupid!"
"I'll see you later Apollo." Nahyuta said, waving goodbye to his friend as he dragged his drunken husband towards their house.
"Do you want to stay Nahyuta?" Simon asked, running his fingers against his hand as if he was going to hold it. Nahyuta wished he'd just hold his hand, it would be better than all the weird small touches he gave him.
"No thank you. There's no point in staying after the couple who the party was thrown has left."

As they left to head back to the palace, they bumped into his father on the steps.
"Dhurke? What are you doing here?"
"Haha! Apollo invited me of course, son!" he said, laughing as he slapped Nahyuta's back. Ow... why did he always have to do that so hard?
"I am very tempted to smack you." he said, groaning from how hard he'd hit me. Why Apollo? Why would he invite their father?
"I'll be looking forward to your wedding as well. You are my dearest younger son." This is why Nahyuta hated that Apollo was older than him... it gave Dhurke more opportunities to treat him like a child. He looked at him confused... what did Apollo do?
"Apollo told me about Simon," Simon glanced between Nahyuta and his father, looking about as confused as he felt. Dhurke cocked his head, "did I misunderstand something here?" He sighed, dragging Simon with him so they could get far far away from that man. Stupid Apollo... and stupid Dhurke.
~~~
As Nahyuta collapsed on his bed, he thought about what Apollo and Dhurke said. Could he and Simon really have a future together? Of course they couldn't, what a silly question. Simon was in love with someone else and Nahyuta sighed, knowing that he would never love him. He couldn't ever love him.
