Nahyuta awoke to the scent of blood filling the air. Blood? Why would there be blood in the air? He didn't believe that he'd been injured recently, at least he didn't think he had. He glanced around the fairly small room, searching for where the scent was coming from. Oh Holy Mother... Simon...

"Simon... what in the world happened here?" Nahyuta asked, running over to his side and kneeling down next to him, placing his hand gently on his shoulder.

"Aw, nothing much." What an asshole, he just had to be like that, even when he was in danger of dying; didn't he?

"Simon do not be coy with me, tell what happened this instant." Nahyuta repeated his question more insistently and he sighed, looking reluctant to answer.

"Fine... I got stabbed..." he said, turning his head to the side and refusing to make eye contact with him.

"How in the Holy Mother's name did you get stabbed?" Simon refused to answer, instead opting to pass straight out for a good four or five seconds. Nahyuta smacked him awake, his heart beating as fast as it could in his chest as he began to panic. He stood, dusting off his pants.

"I'll be right back, stay there." Nahyuta told Simon before leaving the room. Coutrney's quarters weren't far... he'd go to her. She was the closest thing to a doctor that he trusted.

"Courtney!" Nahyuta shouted, slamming her doors open to get her attention.

"Would it kill you to learn how to knock Your Highness? I seem to recall something very similar happening recently. What is it this time? Have you come to another great epiphany about the laws of this messed up country?" she said, not seeming to be in the greatest mood. She glanced over at the prince, her face instantly softening when she saw the look in his eyes, "Your Highness, pardon my rudeness a moment ago. You look distressed, what happened?"

"Courtney, please just come with me. Bring your first aid kit." She nodded, grabbing the white box from next to her desk before following him back down the hall to his room.

"Are you going to hurt Nahyuta? Don't you dare." Simon was clearly starting to get delirious, Nahyuta was sure that was not a good point to be at, but then again, he didn't know anything about medical stuff. Courtney sighed, kneeling down next to him as she pulled out some bandages.

"For the Holy Mother's sake, I'm going to help you. I'm on His Highness' side here."

"Nahyuta, who in the world is she?"

"This is Justine Courtney, she's the Judge of the Royal Court."

"Then how do you know she knows what she's doing? She could be killing me for all you know." Courtney laughed softly, sighing and shaking her head.

"I assure you Simon Blackquill, I most certainly know what I'm doing." she said as she tied off Simon's bandages "there we go. Now don't move around too much and get some rest, I believe that it should fully heal in about a month or so."

"But... my job..."

"OH no, you don't. You're going to listen to me young man. Prince Nahyuta, make sure he follows those rules, I trust he'll listen to you more than he'll listen to me." She bowed her head to Nahyuta before leaving. Goodness he adored Courtney, she was helpful in pretty much any situation. She had medical knowledge, knowledge of the law system, knew how to cook and clean better than most of the maids and cooks and on top of all that, she was a skilled mage as well. Simon, not knowing how competent Courtney was, immediately tried to disobey her and get up.

"Simon..." I said, giving him a pointed glare.

"Don't give that look Nahyuta! I have to protect you!"
