As Simon stood by the door that day, in other words as Nahyuta ignored him, he realized what an idiot he had been last night. Well, he was an idiot all the time, but he'd been especially idiotic last night. Simon shouldn't have taken Nahyuta to my room like that, he'd just been so tired from watching all those annoying nobles that he had felt like he didn't have much of a choice. How hard would it have been to walk the extra five steps to his room?! Why couldn't Simon have just done that?! It was lucky that nothing had happened, if he had for some reason kissed him while he was like that, he might not have been able to hold himself back. Simon flushed, thinking about Nahyuta kissing him. While it was a romantic thought, there was no way it would ever happen. To distract himself, Simon glanced out the large windows that were in front of him, noticing the sky starting to grow darker. A lump grew in his throat, please don't let it rain. While he was now distracted by the darkening sky, Nahyuta poked out into the hallway, tapping him on the shoulder.

"Simon? Simon, are you listening?" he said, placing a hand on his hip. Oh wow, he looked nice today. In all honesty, Simon hadn't heard a word he had just said.

"Oh, sorry Nahyuta. I didn't hear you... I wonder... is it going to rain?" He glanced out the window again, that sky didn't look good. And he didn't like what that implied. He didn't like it one bit at all. Nahyuta walked over to the large window, peeking through the glass at the now black sky.

"Looks like it's going to thunderstorm." he said before turning to go back into his room. Simon flinched as he walked past him... he hated thunderstorms. He hated what they reminded him of.

As the rain began to pour down, making the windows clatter, Simon headed back into his room where there weren't quite at many windows. He knew it was wrong to leave his post like that, but he couldn't be standing by those windows if it started to thunderstorm. Simon knew that he couldn't leave Nahyuta, somewhere in his mind, but he was starting to lose his rationality. He just... couldn't handle himself out in the hallway. As thunder cracked outside, his mind flashed through pictures of that awful day. Blood, so much blood... everywhere. A young girl covered in her own mother's blood, a knife in her hand. Did she... please Athena, tell me you didn't kill Miss Metis! Blood... why was there so much? Please just make it all go away! Neither of us killed you Miss Metis! Please... just leave me alone... I don't want to remember... please... make it all disappear...

~~~
The thunderstorm raged on for hours and Simon found himself hiding under his bed. It wasn't the most comfortable place for someone as big as he was, but it was the place that he felt safest. Even before Miss Metis had died, he had never liked thunderstorms, but back then he had Aura to comfort him. Simon wanted his big sister now, or anyone... anyone would do at this point. He just needed someone to hold him in their arms and tell him everything would be okay.
"Simon? What are you doing under there?" Nahyuta said, laying down on the dusty old floorboards to find him hiding under the bed.
"I-I dropped my... shoe..." Simon said weakly, making up the best excuse he could while his mind was still like this.
"You're wearing both your shoes Simon." Nahyuta said, gesturing to Simon's feet. He looked soft right now, maybe if he told him what was going on... he'd comfort him. But knowing Nahyuta, he'd probably just leave Simon under here if he told him.
"I found it." Thunder sounded through the air again right after Simon said this and he flinched again. Nahyuta seemed to notice this time, offering him a hand out from under the bed. How were his hands always so soft? Simon clung to him like a child, like how he'd clung to his sister back when he was really a child.
"Don't worry Simon... I'll stay here with you..." he said softly, running a hand through Simon's hair as he laid his head down in his lap.
"Start talking, it doesn't matter what about it. Trust me, this will help." Simon trusted him completely, he never wouldn't. He...
"...Miss Metis... she's dead and it's all my fault... I'm so sorry Athena..." a sob escaped his lips and Simon felt tears begin to pour down his cheeks, "... I didn't mean to hurt you... I just wanted you to be safe... that's why I went to prison for you..." As Simon sobbed in his lap, Nahyuta's hand ran its way through his hair. The storm began to calm down as Simon was lulled to sleep by his prince's gentle hand movements. He was... so... Simon didn't even have words for what he felt about him, but it was starting to get dangerously close to love.
~~~

Simon woke up, still in the prince's lap. He brushed a strand of lilac hair off his face, his eyes blinking open as he felt him shift awake. He offered Simon a brilliant smile before shoving his head off his lap and onto the ground.

"Good, you're awake. I was starting to get worried that I'd never get my poor lap back." He stood up, stretching his arms. Simon had probably kept him sitting there for a long time, he almost felt bad.

"Thank you for sitting with me for so long... Nahyuta." Simon said. He was so dazzlingly beautiful and on top of that, he wasn't bad at managing to comfort someone.

"I only did it because I like having a functioning bodyguard. You can't exactly do that if you're hiding under a bed like a scared cat." He turned for the door, most likely heading back for his own room. That braid swaying behind him as he walked was also beautiful. He was so gorgeous that it constantly confused Simon. He... loved him... shit, he loved him. Nahyuta... Simon really did love him. What did he think about him? If there ever came a day where he told Simon that he loved him, he thought he'd die. Simon wanted him to love him, but there was no possibility of that ever happening.
