Every day in the week since Apollo had finally told Klavier yes, Klaiver came to bother Simon with his stupid wedding plans. For the mostly part, luckily, he had already planned everything and just some minor details were left. Why did he have to bother Simon?

"Have you ever thought about marriage Simon? You know, spending the rest of your life with someone that you love?" Klavier asked, leaning against the wall next to him.

"I'm aware what marriage is Klavier," Simon glanced in the doorway at Nahyuta. Holy Mother, did he have to be so gorgeous all the time? "And the thought may have crossed my mind once or twice." Klavier sighed, leaning against the doorframe and staring at Apollo. What a lovestruck fool his friend was. They'd been together for how long now?

"Simon... what are you and Nahyuta exactly?" That question came out of nowhere. Simon had thought he didn't care about his love life... unless he could meddle in it.

"I'm just his bodyguard, nothing more." How dearly Simon wished they were something more.

"Have you ever thought about being something more?" Yes, almost every day and night. His Highness would never know how much Simon loved him. He felt a flush spread across his face, burning as hot as the Khura'in summer.

"Yes, I suppose I have..." Klavier, these were things Simon never wanted him to know. Who knows what he could do armed with this information?

"Just get your guts up and confess already... it won't hurt anything." Klavier said, sighing and shaking his head at Simon's patheticness. Won't hurt anything? Who did this jerkass bard think he was? Of course it would hurt something! He'd lose everything he had built up to this point. At the very least, Simon wanted to be friends with Nahyuta and if he confessed his feelings to him, he would turn me away and he would never get to see his beautiful face again. Instead of saying all this, Simon just laughed at Klavier's proposition, making the boys inside look up at the loud noise.

"Klavier, you know I'd never be able to do anything like that." Klavier shrugged, waving hello to Apollo as he turned to go.

"Worth a shot. I'll take my leave of you now Simon, I'm bored of watching you pine for that prince of yours." Simon glanced inside at the aforementioned prince again, watching him laugh with his best friend. The more he watched him, the more he fell in love with him. If he ever did confess his feelings to him, there was no way that Nahyuta would ever accept those feelings. Simon was better off leaving things they were now, just a prince and his bodyguard. That's all they would ever be.

And yet, he couldn't allow himself to find sleep that night, plagued by thoughts about what Klavier had said. Simon couldn't help but imagine a future with Nahyuta in it. A future where the two of them could be more than a prince and his bodyguard. A future where Nahyuta loved Simon as much as he loved him. But that was only a dream, Nahyuta would never be able to love Simon. He would only see him as a friend, always and forever. Simon had no future with him other than continuing to be his guard. But still... he would always hope for a future where he loved him.
