I was sitting at my desk organizing papers when suddenly someone knocked on my door ferociously
"Come in!" I said
"Professor...there's a fight....in the Girls dormitory..." the girl said out of breath
This took a while to register. A fight on the first day?!!! They were on fire!!!
I swiftly got up and followed the girl into the dormitory
I sat and watched for a moment
"You really want to fight me, aren't you like brain-dead or something?" Marlene asked
"No, but if you hit me I'll hit you back!!" The younger girl retorted
Then the older girl,Marlene, walked over and hit her causing her to be knocked onto the floor
When she did I couldn't help but notice a bunch of other bruises and cuts.... was something going on? Another question sprung to my mind. Was she being abused?
"What on earth do you think your doing?!!!" I called out astounded. The girls all turned to look at me
"Come with me, both of you!!" I barked pointing at Marlene and a younger girl that, if my memory served was called Rose
They both followed me astounded
"Now normally you would get detention but,given the circumstances your going to the headmaster!" I said
I looked over at the girls, Marlene was completely happy but the younger one, Rose looked like she feared for her life.
Was I right? I made a mental note to bring it up with the headmaster
"Rose," I started, the girl looked at me
"I would like you to come and see me alone after the headmaster has dismissed you." I said bluntly
