Ellie's Baby Boy

A few weeks after Alex and Amy left for their honeymoon in Hawaii, Ellie moved in just a down the street from us. She had a small family home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. After half a day of unpacking Ellie was at our front door with a pram. I answered the door to Ellie and a little boy in a pram. The little boy looked around the age of Celest. I welcomed her in before pulling a drink out for her. I was covered in sweat because we were sorting out the back garden and the weeds that were growing.

Ellie brought the pram out the back before putting the young boy in the play pen with Celest and a few toys. She finally relaxed and explain that she adopted this little boy after he was dropped off by his mother. He was name Levi Chase and was only a few days younger than Celest. To see their little smile from the porch was amazing. As soon as I saw them playing, I knew that they would be lifelong friends or even maybe more than that. All of a sudden Celest hiked herself up on the baby fence and started walking to grab a toy. Everyone was so amazed. Leo and I ran up to her a pick her up and cuddled her. Levi must have noticed so he hiked himself and did the same thing. Ellie and I were so proud of our babies. It felt amazing to have a friend to raise our children together.

Before we could get up to the porch with the toddlers the home phone started ringing. Leo answered it and looked me dead in the eyes with the look of worry. Ellie took Celest from me and took both of them to the park. I managed to get to the school in less the half an hour when it usually takes an hour. Leo and I both run through the corridor making our way to the principal's office. We had dirt still on our shirts and our gardening gear. Alexander was sitting out the front with a split lip and a scraped elbow. He jumped into my arms as soon as I came around the corner. There was another child on the other side of the hall with a split eyebrow and bloody nose. His parents gave me the biggest look of hate, but I was used to it because I grew up on the streets and being looked down on. We all went into the office and sat at the desk.

Before the principal could even get a word in the mother of the other child started having a go at me for Alexander's actions. Once the principal settled to annoying mother, he explained how my son started the fight with the other child and he ended up leaving the boy on the grounded with his nose pouring blood. I couldn't help myself I hive fived Alexander before getting a death stare from Leo. Then once the principle finished explaining he brought in a young girl and her mother.

The young girls face was covered in tears and her hair was messy. I was suddenly hit with flash back from the abuse form my stepmother nearly knocking me of the chair. The mother was in tears when she came up to me and hugged me nearly squeezing all the air out of my lungs. Her daughter explained how Alexander stood in the way of the other boy when he wouldn't stop touching her bra strap. The shock on my face was soon replaced with anger. Leo had to put me in to a basket hold to stop me from lashing out at the other children's parents. My stepmother tried to sell me when I was younger, so this issue really angered me. The young boy's parent started having a go at us and saying they would charge my son with assault but before Leo or I could say anything the mother of the young girl said "if you charge Alexander with assault I will take you son to court and charge him with sexual assault. That means your son will be on the registered sex offered list until he is 18 and will be constantly monitored." They shut up really quick and the problem was resolved with the young boy have a 3-week suspension and a change of class.

Alexander was rewarded for standing up for the girl and was given points to his name. We took him home and cleaned up his cuts and scrapes. He had an ice-cream and watched TV for the rest of the day while we finished working outside. Ellie came home with Celest and ended up having dinner with us. I couldn't be more proud of my baby boy and him standing up for the young girl.
