I got the doctor's note after a few weeks at home saying I could only do light duties. It was the weekend, so Alexander was in the front yard washing my motorcycle. The water glisten of the black glossy metal. I help dry it down before sending Alexander inside to get his gear on. After getting it fully dry Alexander walked out the door with his leather jacket and jeans on pair with timber lands, we got him for Christmas. In his arms was my leather jacket and my boots. He jumped on the bike while I slipped my boots on and getting my jacket on. Leo came out with my backpack filled with lunch and water bottles. I gave a quick kiss and hug before hurrying down to an impatient Alexander.

Together we jumped on my motorcycle and driving down the road. Once we got onto the highway, we got some real speed. It only took half an hour to get to the training shed where Hollie's car is parked and Larissa's motorcycle practically at the front door. We pulled up next to Larissa's bike and walked through the back-roller door. In the ring Hollie and Larissa were sparing and our coach watching intensely to pick up any mistake. I walked right up to our coach and handed over my note before jumping in the ring while stripping off my jacket. Hollie slipped out the bottom giving Larissa and I some space to spar. At the first Larissa went easy but as soon as I started pushing hard, we were wrestling properly. By the end we were grappling on the floor and struggling to get each other into a hold. With a little bit more work I got my legs around Larissa and restraining her arm making her tap out. We helped each other out before actual talking to each other. Hollie was busy with Alexander showing him her agility and even running him through it.

Larissa asked, "So are you coming back to work?" I explained the I had only got clearance to train but it will only probably be a few weeks before I'm back. We hugged even though we were sweaty and dirty. Larissa showed me her scar from the bullet in the back of her left arm. I lifted up the back of my shirt to reveal the long scar down my right side where they pulled the bullet out of my lung. She ran her finger over it sending chills down my spine before wrapping me up in a hug crying into my shoulder. "I'm sorry. I really am. I should have taken the bullet not you. You nearly died and it would have been my fault. If I hadn't turned around and asked for your cover than the bullet wouldn't have hit, you in the back. I'm meant to have that long wonky scar down my side.". It took a while to shush her but when I did, I said "I would rather have the scar knowing I got it from protecting my family. My body would be covered in scars if that meant I wouldn't lose any of my family members. So, stop blaming yourself. Pick your head up and hold it high and don't let anyone bring it down. We are family and we have each other's backs. If that means we have a few scars because of it than I don't care.". I wiped the rest of her tears and picked up my bag, grabbing my water out of it. Alexander up to me trying to tackle me but I just flipped him over my shoulder. I picked him up and waved goodbye to everyone.

Together we jumped on the bike again and went to Krystel and Michael's house. Michael answered the door and welcomed us in. Krystel had her suitcases covering most of the hallway. Alexander went out the back with the twins in the sand pit. Krystel had her clothes neatly stacked in her case and was rushing around getting the twin's gear. Once she finally stopped, she got a fright. She hadn't even noticed me when I had come in. We made our way through the maze of packing and suitcases to make our way to the kitchen. I sat at the breakfast nook while she got a drink of water. "So, are you excited to take the kids to see snow for the first time?". She answered with "I'm more excited to see the snow then they are. My whole life while traveling America I have never see snow.". My face just showed pure shock and she just nodded. We made our way out the back to watch the kids play in the sandpit and on the swing. Nico spotted us and tried to run straight out of the sand pit tripping on the wooden paneled edge. Both Krystel and I rushed to him crying and sand everywhere. Alexander got there before us and had Nico in his arms rocking him back and forth. Nico was soothed instantly by Alexander's presence. Krystel scooped Nico out of Alexander after thanking him. I bent down and pulled Alexander in for a hug. He had made me proud yet again and proved that I am actual a good parent even with my messed-up past.

Soon after Krystel cleaned Nico up we left and drove home. On the way home we got dinner at Taco Bell and sneaky Alexander an ice cream. I whispered to him before we got on the highway "If you tell your Dad about this you won't be able to get another one before dinner.". He shoved it straight into his mouth causing a brain freeze. The drive home felt good. The wind flowed through my hair and whipping it into Alexander's face where I'm pretty sure he ate half of it. Leo and Celest were cuddled on the couch watching cartoons when we rocked up. We ate dinner on the couch while watching the news. Leo tucked the kids in before coming back to me.
