"Jeongin isn't here again." Felix looked up from his notebook and met Seungmins' eyes and when he did, he felt a tug on his heartstrings seeing how miserable Seungmin had been without his best friend.
Seungmin sat in the seat in front of him and stared blankly into space before rubbing his eyes, trying his best to remove any traces of the tears he had shed out of concern for his friend.
Felix watched as he buried his face in his hands and on top of that, he noticed how everyone around him talked in quiet voices, not at all bothered to ask how be was doing.
Although not everyone knew Seungmin, everyone from every year knew Yang Jeongin and, if Felix didn't exist, Jeongin would have certainly took his place as the 'sunshine boy'. But now, Felix watched how the girls and boys who once always approached Seungmin and Jeongin just stood there watching.
They watched as Seungmin started trembling, afraid that his friend had truly gone. They watched him attempt to stifle his sobs, his desperation to do so clearly evident and yet failing.
Felix quickly took off his jacket and placed it over Seungmin's head, covering his face from the onlookers as he reached for his hand and held it tightly in his.
He heard the murmurs redirect its subject to him, about how, as expected, the sunshine boy had stepped in to offer warmth and comfort to those who needed it, not a single person mentioning how he must've been cold without his jacket.
He shut his eyes and gritted his teeth together, trying his best to maintain the small smile on his face as all eyes continued watching him.

"Lix, where's your jacket?" Jisung asked, placing his tray on the table before sitting down next to Felix.
Felix tilted his head in Seungmin's direction, receiving a small 'oh' from Jisung.
"Oh, sorry. I forgot to pass it back-" Felix held up his hand and offered him a smile, shaking his head slightly.
Truth be told, Felix was freezing without his jacket, a cold wind brushing past him as though to emphasise that fact. But, when he looked at Seungmin's sorry state, he couldn't possibly take the jacket away from him if it was giving him some momentary warmth.
Felix nodded as Jisung started talking about something he had read online, his mind wandering someplace far, far away and just then, a boy clad in all black walked into his peripheral vision, his hood up as the rest of his classmates followed him to their table. When he put his bag down, they all started striking up a conversation with him and for reasons that Felix himself couldn't explain, he felt heat suddenly rush to his cheeks when instead of answering them, Changbin found him in the crowd and offered him a small smile, completely breaking the dark concept he was striving for.
His classmates looked in Felixs' direction, confusion and curiosity clearly painted on their faces because they had never once seen Changbin smile despite the fact that they had all been in the same class since their first year.
Without a moment's hesitation, Changbin got up from his seat and started walking towards Felix, Jisung lightly nudging him with his elbow as Changbin got closer and closer until eventually, he took the seat right next to Seungmin which just so happened to be directly in front of Felix himself.
"How's my favourite person doing?" Felix started coughing, Jisung hurriedly patting his back while trying his best to contain his laughter at the shocked expression written all over his face. Seungmin's eyes widened as he looked between Changbin and Felix, his brain clearly trying to process what he had just witnessed. "Aren't you cold?"
Before Felix could even respond, Changbin had stood up and, taking off his jacket, draped it over Felix's shoulders. Audible gasps were heard as Changbin kept his hands on Felixs' shoulder, not bothered to detach himself from him just yet. "Wh-what're you doing?"
"Keeping you warm. I thought that it was obvious," Changbin replied nonchalantly, keenly aware of the fact that people had stopped eating just to observe them. Changbin leaned forward, placing his head on Felixs' shoulder. "Are the stares getting to you?"
Changbin removed his hands from Felixs' shoulder and walked back to his seat as Felix continued staring into thin air, unsure of how to react to such a gesture since, not once in his life had anyone put him before themselves.
Before going back to his table, Changbin smiled at Felix and Felix could've sworn that he saw him shiver as a cold breeze blew by.

"Hwang Hyunjin! Why do you bother going to school if you're only going to come for one lesson!" Hyunjin stared at the teacher before rolling his eyes and walking to his seat, pushing aside all the notes and 'presents' people had left for him. He leaned back on his chair and took out his notebook and pens.
Felix took a glimpse at him and, although he strongly disliked the once popular boy, he couldn't help but notice his bloodshot eyes coupled with his red nose and his disheveled hair, his usual cool demeanour entirely gone and in it's place was an empty shell housing a soulless boy.
"Jeongin's not here right?" Hyunjin asked, his voice so fragile that Felix had to replay it in his head to make sure it was really him speaking. "I can feel you staring so I thought that was an invite to start a conversation."
"Ye-yeah, he isn't here." Hyunjin sighed, staring at the words he had written on his notebook subconsciously.
"Fuck," Hyunjin muttered, as he quickly striked out the words he had written and tore the page from his notebook, meekly crushing it into a ball and letting it fall onto the ground and, when Felix looked at it, the ball slowly unfolded itself, revealing the words that Hyunjin had been meaning to say to Jeongin yet never could -
I'm sorry.
