After hearing the whole tale from Annabeth, I admit, it did make a lot of sense- her refusing to come for the concerts, the fancy guitar in her bedroom, the poems under the kitchen drawer... but I wasn't sure if she really enjoyed it. She had a different sparkle when she spoke about architecture, this seemed more like a thing she started off as a trial, which went really well. She was good, no doubt- I literally had 3 huge posters of her; but- I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it because my best friend is literally a celebrity.

OH MY GODS MY BEST FRIEND IS A CELEBRITY. Calm down, Percy. Calm down. You can NOT let Wise Girl know that you are freaking out inside.

"Percy!" Annabeth's voice snapped me back to earth. She looked the same, it was hard to believe this was the uptight Theana.

"Theana... that's Athena rearranged isn't it?" I asked and I immediately regretted it. Bringing up Annabeth's mum had never been a good thing, her walls would go up immediately. But that was seven years ago.

She lowered her gaze and her eyes flicked across the room. "Yeah, something to remember her by, so that the world won't forget her."

I squeezed her hand and she flashed a weak smile back at me. And we just sat like that, holding hands doing nothing. That was, till she whispered, "Percy, do you still like Rachel?"

What! Yes! No? Maybe. Why was Annabeth asking me this?

"Uhhhh..." I scratched the back of my neck nervously.

"Ah sorry it's okay if you don't know yet." She said quickly, her face flushing. I wondered why.

"Oh well, it's getting late I should—," I started but she cut me off with a kiss.

I was too shocked to feel anything else.

"Sorry." She whispered and opened the door for me.

I left without a word, dazed. Annabeth Chase had kissed me.
