Rachel

Once again, we were getting cheeseburgers with the gang, and there definitely was something going on between Reyna and Thalia. When we sat, I could see each one's eyes at them, and while Reyna was not even bothering to pay attention, Thalia was scowling at us with her very signature look. I loved this. No one treated me like I was special, like I was the Miss Dare, I was just a friend. And Percy, Percy was an amazing boyfriend. We'd been dating for about two months, and it had been perfect. The only time it got a little edgy was when Annabeth brought her boyfriend along. Luke. Luke Castellen. Not a bad kid, I guess, just that well; we didn't love him or hate him. We only put up with him because well, he was dating Annabeth.

Honestly, I didn't know how Annabeth couldn't notice that while we put up with Luke, Percy was visibly uncomfortable. I could see him staring at Luke again. I'd always assumed he was a little defensive because Annabeth was his best friend, but sometimes, when he looked at Annabeth, there was something in his eye that I couldn't quite put a finger on.

I squeezed his hand. He looked startled, as if only realising I was there. I'll admit, it hurt just a little bit. "Stop staring Percy," I whispered, half laughing.

He leaned forward and kissed me on the forehead See? He really was the sweetest person I'd ever known.

Then Luke cleared him throat. Everyone looked up, with mild surprise. We all sorta tended to ignore Luke's existence. Except Percy. Percy had always looked ready to tear his throat up.

"You all are getting chocolate milkshakes! In toast of our two month anniversary!" He said, squeezing Annabeth. She flushed.

They was a round of extremely fake cheering and a few mutters about how they were hungry anyway, but I didn't wanna kill the mood for Annabeth. So I flashed her a smile. "Congrats you two."

She smiled back warily, her grey eyes resting on Percy, who was now trying to get a chip into Jason's mouth all the way across the table. She smiled, one of those blissful smiles you smile when you think no one is looking.

I sighed, not sure what to make of the two. Was dating  Percy a wrong thing?

Walking home that night, I crossed the park. Where I saw the two of them passionately making out.

They're happy Rachel. Percy knows that.

No need to be insecure.

I took a few breaths and headed home. I could hear the muffled voices in the living room, so I assumed that my dad was in another meeting so I crept up, and headed to my room.

After staring at the ceiling for an hour, doing absolutely nothing, I decided to entertain myself. How? Eat.

I walked down the stairs, hoping to make as less noise as possible. Ah there the ice cream is. When my ears perked up at what they were saying.

"-eed access to the Chase girl?"

I froze. That was my dad. He didn't even know Annabeth.

"Oh don't worry Dare. We have that covered. Anytime soon, it will be in our hands. And the girl-," He chuckled, with his harsh raspy voice.

By that time, I felt like puking. I rushed out, and I ran. I ran all the way to Percy's place. What were they doing to Annabeth.

"Rachel." Percy gasped as he opened the door.

"Rachel are you okay? Why are you crying?" He asked, his voice full of concern. I hadn't even realised that my face was streaked with tears.

"Annabeth...she's in danger." I gasped.
