New day. Phew. No thinking about the little crush on Percy, definitely not the kiss; do something spontaneous today eh?
That's what I told myself this morning.
Of course things went a little too well.
I didn't wait for Percy today. He probably had to pick Rachel up or something.
I was two blocks away when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Wait up, a huffed voice said."
To say I freaked out is an understatement . I'd decided not to let any more creepy douchebags hurt me anymore, but the cold fear would creep up anyway.
To sum it up- Percy got a nosebleed thanks to me.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" I demanded, breathing heavily.
He huffed. "Walking to school with my best friend?"
I knew I was being unreasonable but I couldn't help it. I was annoyed after all, "Why aren't you walking with Rachel?" I asked.
Percy looked taken aback. "Um should I have?"
I stared at him blankly. "So you won't leave me?"
He laughed, like the idea was stupid. "Course not Wise Girl, promise to never leave you again."

When she asked me if I would leave her, she looked so broken for a second there. Moments like this when I wanted to go and punch anyone who had made her believe that love wasn't permanent.
And the relief on her face, with the slow smile spreading when I assured her I wouldn't- she was so pretty. So Wise Girl.
When we reached, I could see Rachel grinning at me.
"Hey, Annabeth, I gotta g—," I turned around and Annabeth had already walked away, her wavy blonde hair disappearing in the crowd.
So I walked toward a waving Rachel. She looked positively ecstatic. "Hey Percy."
Unconsciously, I could feel myself going red, though I'm not really sure why. "Hey Rachel."
So you wanna, I don't know, get a smoothie or something today?"
"Sure!" I replied, smiling the cheesiest smile I could make.
Then the green in Rachel's eye's darkened. "Have you told Annabeth, about you know, this?" She asked, pointing to herself and I.
"Yeah, of course." I said. "Why though?" I asked, mildly confused.
She rolled those leaf green eyes. They really were fascinating. "Boys..." She muttered. "Anyway Perce, I'll see you then." She gave me one last stare and walked away humming.

I left Percy and Rachel alone, feeling really happy that Percy wasn't gonna leave me.
He had said forever and always.
Wrapped in my thoughts, I walked right into someone.
"Sorry," I muttered, not even looking up.
Then I felt a hand reach my shoulder. Almost involuntarily, I felt a cold chill down my spine. "Hey, you're Annabeth, right?"
It was some tall blonde dude. "Hi, uh sorry about that I wasn't looking—," I started, but he cut me off, "I'm Luke. Luke Castellen. Nice to meet you."
I met his gaze. He has startling blue eyes.I cleared my throat. "Right, I should probably be getting to class now."
"You wanna hang out sometime?" He asked.
I seriously hope I didn't look as shocked as I felt.
"Yeah sure." I mumbled, and walked away as fast as I could.

At math, Annabeth came late. I wondered why. So I asked her. "Psst, Wise Girl. How come you're late?"
"Some dude asked me out, I think." She said. She sounded shocked, like it was unbelievable that someone would ask her out. I resisted telling her I wasn't surprised.
"So did you say yes?"
"I think so." She whispered back.
We sat in comfortable silence for a while till I blurted, "So who is he?"
"Luke Castellen."
I winced, but didn't say anything.
I had a girlfriend, Annabeth probably had a date too, then why did I feel like something was wrong?
