"Dammit" I muttered. Why did anything to do with love crushes and stuff be so complicated!

Hmm...Nico. Nico could help. So I called Nico. What? Don't judge.

"What the actual Hades Percy!" He hissed.

"You sound...awake." I commented.

"That's because..." He sighed and I almost could feel him rolling his eyes. "Will got stuck in the middle of nowhere. Now why he was in the middle of nowhere, I wouldn't know- but his car won't work."

"And you...you can drive? I thought you were terrible at it!" I cried, suddenly getting worried.

"I'm not that bad Percy. Trust me. Anyway, Will should be safe, right?"

I sighed. I just hoped Will wouldn't disappoint Nico again. For Nico's sake.

"Okay Ni-," I started.

"Bye Percy, I'll drive safe get to bed" He finished and the line went silent.

Well see, this is called feeling pathetic.

"Hey." -Annabeth

I raised my eyebrows, my shoulders stiffening. The kiss. Why had she done it? What did she want? Or mean?

I texted back almost immediately "uh Hi."

Typing. Lots of typing. Holy Hera annabeth, type faster girl. It's not that hard.

"Umm listen."

What the hell. So much anticipation for an "umm listen" - that girl is a huge onion. Which saying out loud kinda sounds like an insult but meh.

"Yeah?"

"About tonight, I'm sorry I didn't mean to—,"

"It's okay Annabeth."

"You sure???"

"Yep <3"

"Phew. That was weird. Thanks Seaweed Brain."

I sent her back a fish.

"What the hell Perce."

"It's a cute fish."

"Ew."

I laughed.

"Hey Annabeth... I need some help...."

"Oooooh do spill."

"Rachel asked me out."

Typing. Typing. Typing.

"That's great."

"Butttt I don't know what to say"

"And are you okay with this?"

And she didn't reply after.

Almost 4 am. I texted Percy, feeling super guilty about the kiss.

And guess what.

Rachel asked him out.

And of course I said go for it, that's what best friends do. But really? Let's just say there is a reason I learnt how to control my tears.

And now I'm about to lose my best friend.
