Chapter 26

Branch and the others went into a room and searched around for Poppy and Barbs dads

"Find them?" He asked

"Nope!" They said

"I would want DJ to try to put her headphone jack back in the wall, but I don't want her ears to bleed." Branch said

"Then we keep looking!" They heard someone say

They looked at the door and saw Trollex

"What?" Barb asked

"WE KEEP LOOKING!" He said again with a smile

"Yeah, I know! I heard you!" Barb said

She shoved him out of the way and left the room

"What's her deal?" Trollex asked

"I'm sure she's just worried about her dad." Poppy said

"Aren't you too?" He asked

"Of course I am, but I show in it other ways." Poppy smiled

"Ohhh."

They walked through the halls till Branch got an idea

"Ok, how about this! We go in groups and look for them." Branch said

"Yeah! Because that's just a great idea!" Barb said with sarcasm

"Ok, I'm just trying to help you out!" Branch said

Barb walked away

"We'll go with her." Poppy said following her with DJ

"Let's look, Trollex." Branch said

"Great!" He smiled

They both went the opposite direction from the girls

Poppy, DJ, and Barb walked in the halls

Barb looked in the vents and closed them back up when she didn't see anything

"Barb, what was that back there?" Poppy asked her

"I just want to see my dad again, ok?!" She said

"Believe me I want to see my dad too, but you don't have to be mad at us. It's not our fault." Poppy said

"You're right, it's not!" Barb said

"Then why are you acting this way?" Poppy asked

"I didn't spend a lot of time with my dad. I always went out causing trouble!" Barb said

"It's ok, Barb. We'll find him, and then you can spend as much time with him as you want." Poppy said

Barb looked at her and smiled

"Yeah, you're right, Pop-Squeak, now let's find our dads." Barb said

"Yeah!" Poppy said and they walked off with DJ

"How'd you do that?" DJ asked standing next to Poppy

"I just said what Hickory told me before." Poppy said
