Celeste's vision was blurry as she woke up, her head cradled gently in Kylo's arms. His helmet was off, and he had some scratches on his face, but nothing major.

"D-did you?" She asked. He nodded, holding up the remote. She smiled weakly.

"We did it, Ren."

"Ben," He said softly, looking away, his face flushed.

"Huh?"

"My name is Ben. You didn't think my parents named me Kylo, did you?"

"Ben...I like it," She coughed violently, wiping blood from her mouth. "It suits you."

"You're hurt badly,"

"I know. I can feel it," She laughed dryly. "Your smile is nice. I'm glad it'll be the last thing I see." His eyes widened.

"You're going to be fine, stop," He said, pulling her closer on his lap. He started to breathe more deeply and closed his eyes.

"Hey, stop," She said firmly, moving away from him.

"You need to keep your strength up, you need to get us to the base, they'll be able to heal me and protect us there."

"But-" He protested.

"We don't have time, just fly, Ben," She smiled softly again.

"I like Ben a lot more than Kylo, for the record," She said as he gently set her down on the floor and sat back in the pilot's seat, glancing back at her. His eyes were full of concern.

"I like the way you say it," He muttered. "Hold on tight to something," He instructed, programming in the coordinates that Leia had sent them earlier.

~~~~~
Celeste heard the resistance before she saw them.
"Who's that piloting the ship?"
"Where's Celeste?"
"What took her so long?"
"Why is her ship so damaged?"
"Did they actually blow up the base?"
"Did it work?"
She knew she was safe now and allowed herself to lose consciousness.
"H-hey!" Ben said as he landed and saw her slump over. He saw rebels looking curiously at him and hastily kicked his helmet into a dark corner, then picked Celeste up carefully. He flinched as he saw the large wound on the back of her head.
He opened the door and walked down the ramp, squinting.
"Is she okay?" Ben recognized the dark-haired man Celeste had hugged back on the ship, and from her memories. Poe, right?
"Where is your medical station?" Ben asked, ignoring his question.
"Follow me," The man looked pale and nervous. "I-I can hold her, here," He tried to take her.
"Don't touch her," Ben growled, not looking at him. Poe looked surprised.
"Hey, she's my friend, I wouldn't hurt her," Ben ignored him. He only let go of her when the medical droids needed to take her into another, private room.
~~~~~

Poe paced anxiously around the waiting room, his eyes darting over to the strange man sitting there every few seconds. He was sitting there, motionless, his eyes staring straight ahead of him, blank. But the moment a medical droid came out, he shot to his feet, so fast that Poe could barely see him move.

"Is she okay?" He demanded of the droid, rudely.

"She is stable," The droid replied, "She is currently unconscious, she will be awoken tomorrow morning," Poe sighed as the droid left.

"So who are you? I can get the general and we can arrange some sort of temporary housing-" Poe offered.

"Don't get the general," The stranger said, sitting back down. He hunched over slightly and ran his fingers through his hair.

"You're injured there too, buddy, your chest is bleeding a bit," Poe pointed out. The stranger looked down, surprised.

"Oh, I hadn't noticed."

"Aren't you going to tell a droid?" Poe prompted. The man finally met his eyes and glared at him. He had a long scar running from his forehead to his cheek. Poe raised his hands in surrender and left, shaking his head. That guy was too suspicious to not report to the general, so instead of just walking to the living quarters, he found Leia.

"General," He bowed his head.

"She's here, isn't she? I can feel it. Is there someone else with her?" Leia asked. Poe nodded.

"Yeah, there's a super sketchy guy in the medical waiting room, refusing to leave. He didn't let me touch her. She'll be fine, she'll be awake in the morning," He said.

"Alright. I'll go to see her in the morning," She decided.

"You don't want to go see the guy?" Poe asked, surprised.

"I think I already know who he is," She smiled slightly.
