xvii. overwhelming

SEVENTEEN — ( OVERWHELMING! )

IT WAS THE DAY SYDNEY HAD BEEN DREADING THE MOST THE DAY SHE HAD READ THE SCRIPT. The flashback scene, the sex scene with her ex-boyfriend. And Sydney wished she had no experience in filming a sex scene so she could blame her nerves on that but they all knew she had and the ones she'd filmed on Euphoria were much more intense than the first one she had to do with Rudy. The scene was just two best friends coming together and realising that their feelings for each were stronger than they thought and they couldn't hold back anymore. It wasn't a hard scene but Sydney and Rudy both knew it would probably be one of the hardest scenes they'd have to film for the whole season, or show even.

The scene was scheduled for the afternoon and Sydney had scenes to film that morning too so she didn't really even have time to freak out about the flashback scene.

It was around 2pm when Sydney headed to hair and makeup. Because the scene was a flashback, she had to style her hair a little differently and put on a little more makeup. She then went straight to wardrobe to change clothes. Sydney had to change everything she was wearing, even her bra which did make her freak out a little because that meant her shirt would be off in the scene at one point. Of course Sydney had been told that could happen but she was hoping maybe they wouldn't want it to go that far, but clearly they did.

Sydney hadn't even seen Rudy all morning, which made her freak out even more when she arrived onto the set and saw him standing with their director. Sydney thought she could stand at the side and wait alone for them to start but as soon as Rudy spotted her, he approached her to try and talk to her.

"Hey. How you feeling?" Was the first thing he said as she stood in front of her with a smile on his face. One Sydney couldn't help but mirror.

"I'm okay, I guess." Sydney said, shrugging her shoulders. "Okay as I can be knowing how awkward this is going to be." She then laughed.

"That's fair. This is going to be pretty awkward." Rudy laughed along with Sydney. "But we can do it though, right? It'll be okay."

"Yeah, we'll be fine." Sydney pursed her lips and nodded her head. She knew they'd both be fine once they started, it would just be actually getting started that would be the worst of it. "It's nothing we haven't done before." She then joked, making Rudy laugh again. It was an awkward laugh but it was still a laugh.

It was then silent between the two as they watched the crew finish setting up the scene of Juliet's bedroom, till Rudy spoke again. "You'll tell me to stop if it gets uncomfortable for you, won't you? I don't want us doing anything you don't want to do, okay. If it gets too much, just tell me to stop and I'll stop. We can just tell Jonas you don't feel well or something." Rudy told her, making sure she promised him that she would make him stop if it got too much for her. He didn't want her feeling overwhelmed.

Sydney hesitated before nodding. "Of course. Same goes to you too." Sydney didn't want him feeling uncomfortable either. It wasn't everyday you had to film a sex scene with your ex that you didn't end on good terms with and were now suddenly friends with.

Ten minutes later, Sydney found herself sitting beside Rudy on a loveseat that was on a set that was made to look like the balcony that was on the house they used for Juliet's house. They couldn't have them actually up on the balcony due to the lack of room for all the camera's and crew.
