Lies can't stand on one leg and truth always walks with the two of them.
~next day, morning, Adrian's palace~
Ivan's pov
We get outside our cars in hurry and I take Cora's hand in mine while one guard of ours closes the door for us.
I see her worried yet very scared expression, her pale skin, her blurry eyes and tired body language and my heart aches, but don't talk about it for now. The last thing I want is to upset her even more, she won't stand it and for one more time I have to be the strong one between us, because my instinct and lycan assure me that something is wrong. Not that the latest incidents don't scream for us to get ourselves prepared for the big bomb, whose gunpowder's scent is strong and smells fire.
Ollia's phone call to Mischa yesterday was the only thing we needed to get panicked, because she didn't call to ask how we were doing, she called to give us instructions according to Alena's orders and of course she did it immediately and she was very clear, strict and firm.
She told Mischa and all of us to wait and stay at Owen's pack until today and she asked from King George and Queen Amanda to return to Adrian's palace, because she needed them here. Why did she ask these?
I honestly don't know, we have no clue, she denied giving us any other information and from her tone, words and general behavior we are sure something serious is happening and we are going to find it out too soon, in the next couple of minutes to be more specific.
The only thing for sure is one, Alena is behind everything, she talked with Mischa and Rosana's parents, Victor and Ollia, and she did the whole job for us, she has certainly prepared something important and it is freaking me out the more I am thinking about it.
We didn't slept last night, we didn't take any rest, all of us were gathered in the pack house's living room like one fist and we were trying to think what is going to happen today, but if you know Alena Petrov so well like we do, you know it's pointless, you can't get in her mind.
Cora has barely talked from the moment she woke up last afternoon, she behaves like a ghost, she denies eating, drinking or taking some rest and when Mischa asked for us to get gathered and informed us what his mother had told him, Cora 'fell' even more. Her nerves are broken, she has black circles around her eyes, she has lost her spark and energy and she walks only with mine, Sebastian, Owen or Nikolai's help. She cried for about three times during the long, torturing night, she had her outbursts and nobody dared to try to take her to lay down, because she wasn't just worried, she was angry and we didn't want to challenge her with our protectiveness. We know Cora, we know her limits and we didn't want to cross their line.
She wants to see Alena, learn what she is up to, make sure she is safe and sound and help her, but she also knows this won't happen until Alena says so and to be honest I understand both sides, but I agree with Cora. Alena has been through way too much and it's time for her to allow us to help her for once. We are walking on a stretched rope, it is our duty to join her side, but she has decided to keep us away from everything.
The next two I want to talk about are Owen and Nikolai, the big surprises, as yesterday they came to the pack house together and shocked us all with their statement. They are perfectly fine, I mean their relationship. They talked, Nikolai asked from Owen to forgive him, Owen did it immediately and I'm very happy they are so close already. They haven't left each other's side and I am impressed they think the same way, I mean it, these two have the same opinions, thoughts and behavior and I hadn't seen it before. They look much better from that moment, they are worried, but they have no problems anymore and a weight left from their shoulders, they are united, although both of them are worried sick about Alena.
