her heartbreak

"Jen are you okay?" Chaeyoung asked, completely worried about her friend.

Earlier on their way home, the two decided to stop by on a convenience store to buy some snacks for their movie marathon later in the evening.

As they wander inside the store, -walking and scanning on different shelves to find something to eat-, Jennie spotted a familiar figure at the entrance .

Black loose shirt and baggy jeans with a cap, she immediately recognised the man; Kwon Jiyong, her ex boyfriend, entering the same place as hers with a girl clinging on his arms.

She scoffed. Shameless jerk.

Jennie was quick enough to pull Chaeyoung away before they could catch a sight of them. She grabbed the cart full of foods to the cashier to pay so that they can leave immediately.

"What's with the hurry?" the blonde asked.

"We need to leave." she replied casually.

After paying the foods, she grabbed the bag together with Chaeyoung to get out of the place.

"Jen..." she heard him call. Slowly, Jennie faced him and stopping Chaeyoung from attacking him at the same time.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD! HOW DARE YOU!" the blonde yelled, earning a couple of stares from the other people but she could careless.

Good thing they are outside the store now or else the security guards will definitely get them.

"Jen please.." Jiyong tried to reach for the brunette but the taller one pushed him away together with the girl he brought.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?!"

"Shut up Chaeyoung! This is our problem, not yours so please don't meddle with this. " the boy spat, earning a hard slap from Jennie.

"Don't you dare yell at her like that or I'll have to break that fuck face of yours." she threatened, keeping the younger in her back.

"Please Jen, let me ex-"

"Shut it! I don't care about your shitty explanations Kwon Jiyong. We.are.done. And I just wanna say FUCK YOU one last time." Jennie glared before she turned her back and began to walk, not minding the stares from the people who pass by.

"I'm fine Chae." the brunette assured, flashing a weak smile at her friend.

"I'll be in my room." she excused and ran.

When Jennie successfully escaped from her friend, she immediately locked the door of her room and finally broke down, releasing a river of tears but she tried to keep it low, afraid Chaeyoung might hear it.

The sight of the framed pictures of her and his ex boyfriend beside her bed broke her into pieces.

How could he?

She really didn't expect that they'll end up like this. Well, who will? Jiyong is a sweet and lovely guy that's why Jennie effortlessly fall inlove with him. He's also kind that's why it's hard for her to believe what he did.

First year of their relationship and everything went well. It was full of sunshine and rainbows. Jiyong being all lovey-dovey towards her, even in the public, whether her friends or family is present, Jiyong wouldn't mind but to show his feelings towards her.

When the second year of their relationship came, that's where the problem started. Jiyong suddenly became distant towards her and he changed. A lot. He's not the same guy she had fallen inlove with.

He will ditch her in their dates but said that he'll make it up for her and she hold onto his words, making up lame excuses ike he was busy or has important things to do first, until the other day, she finally caught him doing inappropriate things behind her back and that broke Jennie's heart the most.

She trusted him. She loved him but he betrayed her. Two years was wasted because of him.

Am I not enough? Or am I boring? Maybe annoying? What did I do wrong?

A lot of questions was flooding inside her head as she continued to cry. She was fine the whole day, the meeting, the tour, the lunch, but the happiness she felt vanished when she saw him.

"Don't worry Jen, it's his loss. I'm sure there is still a lot of guys out there who deserves you."

"Chae..."

"You should stop thinking about that jerk. You're still young though, pretty, decent and smart, there's still a lot of guys who's deserving to have you and also willing to love and care for you."

"V."

The words rang inside her head. V, the guy who helped her that night. That night when she thought alcohol would help her reduce the pain she's feeling.

He was there, listening to her rants and understanding her situation, gave her advices and made her enjoy the rest of the night.

Where is he? Will we meet again? she wondered.

Honestly, Jennie feels comfortable around him even if they just met. The doubt and hesitation she felt for him, he made them fade.

The whole night with him, all she felt was pure happiness and freedom; dancing and drinking like there's no tomorrow, mind free from stress and worry.

But unfortunately, they slept together. She just had a one night stand with a guy she just met but she's relieved it's him, she couldn't imagine herself sleeping with a guy except him.

"Jen?" Chaeyoung spoke from the other side of the door.

"Jen, please, let's talk about this. Don't lock yourself in there." Jennie stood up, getting annoyed at the continuous knocking.

The blonde immediately hugged the brunette as soon as she opened the door while Jennie's tears started falling on her shoulder.

" It'll be fine Jen. I'm here. " Chaeyoung rubbed her back in attempt to calm her down.

"Thank you." she mumbled.

Sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorns and a can of soda in the side, legs placed above the small table in front of them as they focused on the movie they're watching.

"You know Chae? I realised something today." Jennie stated, sounds of the popcorn getting crunched echoed throughout the room.

"What? That I'm prettier than you? That's good." Chaeyoung joked.

"Hey! That's not it!" the older protested.

"Then what? Come on tell me."

"That I shouldn't have cried that muc-"

"YES!" Chaeyoung exclaimed, throwing the bowl of popcorn away as she faced Jennie.

"Am I hearing right? You'll never cry again over that jerk? Oh my gosh!"

"Yeah, I realised that he's not worth my tears. It's too precious to be wasted by him and I decided to move on."

"That! That's the Jennie Kim I knew!"

"Yeah yeah, whatever. We should sleep, we still have work tomorrow."
