When we all landed, we ran over to the RV and Coach Hedge didn't hesitate to drive us away from the base.
"Thank you," I heard Hecate whisper from her bed.
"No problem, Hecate," I said with a smile.
"There is something I must tell you," she whispered.
"What?" we all gathered around her.
"When Destroyer was torturing me... he asked for my powers over mist. I said no. He continued to torture me and since I refused, he drained all my powers from my body. I can't keep up the mist. When they said 'choose' they meant that we'd have to choose which section of mortals we'd give up. I can keep up the mist in some areas, but a large group of mortals have to be released," she whispered.
"Whoa..." I breathed.
"Who should we do?" Piper asked.
"Um... who can we do?"
"Maybe San Francisco," Rachel suggested.
"No... I don't think they'd be very happy and we can't explain. It has to be somewhere near us," Annabeth countered.
"Uh... well, we aren't taking it out on Broadway... that'd screw up everything," Piper said.
"Yeah... um... Yancy?" Jason suggested.
"Um... they're too small... it has to be bigger," Hecate squeaked.
"Um... what's the biggest school?" Leo asked.
"It's Goode. I think it's Goode," I said, looking at Hecate, who nodded.
"I think we can do that," she said.
"Oh... jeez... this is gonna be hard," I groaned.
"Well... The mist will stay up for a while but eventually it'll fall. The mortals must know. No one knows when, but eventually, I'll restore my power, but it won't be much use because the mortals will have known too much already," Hecate sighed, "When I regain strength, it'll be long after the war and... I'm not even sure if we'll make it. Plus, I can't remove old memories."
"Well... it is what it is," Frank sighed.
"Yeah. If Hecate can't do anything about it... what can we?" Hazel looked at us all.
"Yeah... it's a lost cause," Calypso agreed.
"When will we be back, Coach?" I asked the satyr driving the van.
"So impatient... We've only been driving for fifteen minutes! Anyway, we'll be back in two days. Have fun and all, but don't make a mess," Coach said before sighing, "I need a little me time."
He closed the shutters separating the driver and the passengers. I looked around.
"Well... let's celebrate our success and call it a day, okay?" I asked.
We gathered on the couch and snacked on M&Ms, Skittles for Frank because of his lactose intolerance. We played games and watched a movie until we had all fallen asleep. I had the strangest dream.
I was watching some weird starry-eyed man talking to a whole bunch of other weird people. One of them was Gaia. Wasn't she dead? I also saw the Fates seated at the bottom of some weird woman's throne. The Fates were looking at me and everyone followed their gaze. They were looking straight at me. Then... I was awake.
I woke up in the middle of the night wondering about my dream.
||Annabeth Chase||
It'd officially been two days and we arrived at Olympus in a flash.
"Hecate!" they all yelled and welcomed her back.
We said our farewells and got back to Camp Half-Blood. The Hephaestus kids were playing with the helicopter and they got off immediately when we said we were going to leave. Goode High School would have to face the horrors of the real world and I didn't really want to see their reactions. When we arrived at Percy's house, I realized that it was actually nearing Halloween!
"Wait... Halloween's in two days?! I thought we were only gone for a week unless... Oh... Kronos is probably siding with End to make time faster so he can rise faster," Percy abruptly halted.
We all got in the house and Percy closed the door behind him.
"Okay, so we'll need to plan out Halloween costumes..." he trailed off.
"Halloween is the one night of the year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it," Clarisse mocked Cady Heron from Mean Girls.
"Yeah... okay... well, we're so doing couple theme stuff," Percy smiled.
"Ugh..." I face-palmed.
"Okay..." we all agreed and I walked over to where Percy was sitting.
"So... I am so doing Santa Claus themed stuff," I smirked at Percy's face.
"Okay... so I have to do a Santa inspired costume?"
"Yep," I smirked.
When we were done, the list turned out like this:
Percy and Annabeth = Mr. and Mrs. Claus (OOPS DID I DO THAT ON PURPOSE OR ON ACCIDENT 😏)
Jason and Piper = Captain America and Wonder Woman
Hazel and Frank = Kitten and Panda
Travis and Katie = Bunnies :)))
Thalia, Reyna, and Rachel(no they're not a couple) = Mean Girls : Thalia = Regina George, Reyna = Gretchen Weeners, Rachel = Karen Smith (THEY AREN'T DYEING THEIR HAIRRRRRRR)
Nico and Will = Yin and Yang
Clarisse and Chris = Angel and Devil
Connor = "Cereal" Killer (Get it??? No???)
We went shopping and Grover announced that he had something to do back at the Cloven Elders so he had to miss the party we were hosting. Percy was furiously typing emails to his friends and the whole grade. We were inviting everyone because it was Sally's policy if we held parties. Estelle was coming, apparently, so we also had to make sure it was perfect, or else Sally would probably make us cancel the party. We were all busy preparing and it was nice to have a change from the busy wars.
||Percy Jackson||
I sent out the last invite and picked up all of our costumes. I handed Annabeth hers and we all anticipated the big party. Oh... this was going to be great!
||Isabel||
So... Percy's having a party, eh? Well... perfect time to hook up with him... or just make Piper's life miserable. She doesn't deserve a really good one anyway.
