Word is going around school about Draco, and fast. At first Harry was the only one convinced, by himself of course, but now he's got almost half the school buzzing about it. Katie Bell was cursed or possessed by some necklace, Harry talks too much and too fast for me to understand sometimes, and Harry seems to think it's Draco's doing. I really don't think it's Draco, he wouldn't do something like that. Would he? Either way it doesn't matter to me, as long as Katie and Draco are both okay. Which they are, physically. I've asked Draco to meet with me after curfew, saying if he doesn't show he'll be in for it. It's my last class and I'm becoming squirmish cause I'm so impatient, I need to see him and make sure he's okay.
"So when you add taxes to your total, how much will you pay?" the teacher asks the class a question that I don't know the answer to. I move my attention to them so I don't get lost. A student answers and the teacher is quick to reword them. "Very good." I find this math term, yes we're learning muggle math, to be fairly easy. The teacher writes a new question on the chock board. We need to find the gross pay, gross. I jot down the equation and start to solve it. To my surprise the bell rings. You could say I've been saved by the bell, but my nerves start to form as I realize I could see Draco in the grand hall. Yes, I want to see him but I'm worried that he's not doing that well. I pack my stuff up and leave the classroom following suit with my classmates. We all make our way to our houses in preparation for dinner, or supper. I shove my books under my bed and change into some comfy, not skirt related, clothes.
"Hey, (Y/N)." I turn to the Hufflepuff by the room door. "Got a minute?"
I nod and follow her out of the room. "What is it?" I ask as we enter the common room, the lounge.
"I need some advice, if that's okay."
My eyes scan the room, "What's up?" and finally land on the other girl.
"I'm having some troubles with my studies. A-and I'm so used to being good at everything. In primary school I didn't get anything less then a B in my classes and all of a sudden I'm having trouble with charms."
I take a seat beside her on a common room couch. "Well, your second year can be difficult. Most of us seem to zoom through the first and then our standards are pushed down in the second. Just, try your best and don't be afraid to ask for help, wether that's from a friend or your professor."
She nods, "I don't like asking for help. It was a lot to even ask you." I ponder for a moment, taking her issue into consideration.
"Asking can be scary, but once you do you'll be thankful that you did. And if you want I can try and help you, be a mentor or something," I shrug. She nods again and thanks me, getting up and heading to her shared room.
I stand too but as I do I rub my temples, hoping dinner will go by quickly and with no harm.
