I arrived at the Weasley house pretty near night fall. They've got quite a tent set up. It's huge. Inside there's tables, food, drinks, anything you could imagine to be at a wedding reception really. The atmosphere is filled with family, tranquility and romance, it's making me feel emotional. I find Luna stood with her father talking to Harry. She makes eye contact with me and I wave, she politely nods to Harry and pulls her father away from the conversation. Her father notices me and leaves Luna to greet me alone.
"Hello. Don't you look lovely," she complements me.
"Thank you." I smile but it fades slightly when I cock my head, "Yellow looks good on you. You should wear it more often."
Luna smiles. We start a conversation, Luna sharing a earlier event. "I got bitten by a garden gnome a few moments ago," she shows me her finger.
"You alright?" I ask.
She nods. "Yes.. Would you care to dance?" Luna hold out her hand and I take it, friends can dance together right? My ears perk up to the soft, slow playing song. We start to dance, giggling lightly. Maybe tonight won't be as bad as I thought.
As soon as the song ends me and Luna share a smile and a laugh, but we're interrupted when a blue ball of light shoots into the tent setting everyone on edge. "The Ministry had fallen." Blue images flout out of the ball. "The Minister of Magic... is dead. They are coming.. They are coming." The ball repeats the same three words, "...they are coming," before it fades away and we're suddenly under attack. Luna looks at me before rushing us outside. I can hear the tent full of people behind us start to panic. Black smoke bursts through the tent and evaporate into people. Death Eaters. People start to scream and wands are being waved, it's all too much.
"Hey," hands are placed on my cheeks. Luna has my face cupped. "Calm down, we just need to get back to my house and-"
"Luna!" Her father starts to call for her. "Luna!"
"I've got to go, stay here." Luna walks back towards the tent and I see I'm stood at the side of the Weasley house. I slow my breathing to keep myself quiet.
"Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes?" My eyes move quickly to the masked Death Eater before me. "Bit round but we can fix that."
"Stay back," I pull my wand from my shoe and hold it up. My hands visible shake. I push my back against the wall behind me to keep away from the Death Eater.
The Death Eater laughs at me, "You think you can scare me? Just-"
"Don't you think you're getting out of hand? We came here for Potter not some girl," the Death Eater is cut off. Who is that? Why do I know their voice? I'm too caught up in my anxiety to think clearly.
"We came to have fun, to cause havoc."
"Get out of here," the voice spits. I keep my eyes away from the voice and watch as the Death Eater walks away. As it falls silent I realize who the voice was and why it sounded so familiar, I bring my eyes up to the voice.
"D-Draco," I say. I gradually show a smile.
Draco returns a small one, but only small enough for me to notice. "Hey. Are you alright?" He checks our surroundings, as per usual. I wipe the skirt of my dress and look at my feet.
"I-I'm all good, thank you." I notice he's got a few battle wounds, a couple scraps and a cut. "Are you okay?" I ask, hesitantly reaching for a scrap on his forehead.
"I'm alright," Draco reaches me but just as he does a spell is castes our way.
"Shit." Draco takes out his wand and fires a spell back. "You need to get out of here," he hesitates before grabbing onto my hand. "Hold tight." Draco evaporates into smoke, taking me with him into the air. I can feel ourselves becoming one. I don't think this is meant for more then one person to do. Draco lands us quickly on the ground, away from all the havoc and by the tall grass and the pond. "You alright?"
I nod, "Uh yeah. Please never do that again."
"Noted," he smiles. Draco, to my surprise, cups my cheeks and brings me into a kiss. With hesitation either. I kiss back and Draco takes this as a motive to bring his hands to my body. He moves his hands from my cheek and wraps his arms around me, pulling me closer. I put my arms over his shoulder to let him know I'm okay with what he's doing. Sadly, though, we pull away out of breath. "I've been wanting to do that again," he smirks. I roll my eyes and return it with a smile.
"Don't get too carried away, I still need to get out of here. If anyone finds me here with you-"
"Don't worry," he cuts me off. "I'll let Luna know where you are."
I smile, "Thank you." With that Draco turns to black smoke again and takes off again. I sit watching the now ruins of a wedding burn and simmer as most of the party goers have fled and there's no more fighting happening. I guess the Death Eaters really did just come to cause a commotion.
"(Y/N)!" I'm being called for but I can't see who it is due to the long grass, but it sounds like Luna. "(Y/N)!" The blonde girl comes out from the grass and hugs me. "You're alright, good." I nod.
"We need to leave," Luna's father appears behind her, gaining my attention.
"Yes," I agree. "Let's get out of here."
