| chapter twenty six |

Saki knew where Zuko would have passed through and decided that was her best bet at finding him.

Once she got out of the forest, she only had to walk a little way until she reached the abandoned looking town she'd seen earlier.
She could hear shouts and blasts going off.
The sounds of a battle.

"Ohh no." She muttered to herself before sprinting towards the town.
She ran from in between two buildings into the middle of the street to see the back of Zuko sprinting into a building.
Aang landed nimbly on the ground and Azula burst out of a building after him.

They didn't seem to notice Saki, so she ran to the building where Zuko had gone and hadn't come back out.
She could see him, laying unconscious on the ground.

"Zuko!" Saki ran to him and repeatedly hit his arm with light slaps.
He stirred and opened his eyes to see her face peering over his, looking concerned.

"Saki?" He asked weakly.
"Zuko! Get up!" She grabbed his hand and pulled as he slowly stood, looking dazed.

"Saki! I've missed you so mu-" He started, staring at her as if he was wondering whether she was really there.
"Shh! We don't have time now! And I'm still mad at you!" She snapped, turning and running out of the building.
Zuko watched her go, a soft smile on his face.

"Hurry up, dingus!" She yelled. He snapped out of his trance and chased after her.

She spotted Iroh by a fallen Azula and ran to aid the others with Zuko right behind her.

Azula backed cooly into a corner and raised her hands, looking at the semicircle of people around her.
She glanced too to see Sokka, Katara, her new friend Toph, Aang, Zuko, Iroh and her all lined up in front of Azula.

"Well, look at this. Enemies and traitors, all working together. I'm done. I know when I'm beaten. You got me. A princess surrenders with honor." Azula spoke up from where she was cornered.

Saki glanced over at Zuko to see if he was buying it and Azula saw her chance.

This Saki girl wasn't of any use to her and would get her nothing. Besides, Zuko seemed quite fond of her and she wanted to hurt him as much as she could.

It all happened at once.

Iroh spotted what Azula was about to do as her eyes shifted to Saki.
A bolt of blue lightning shot out of her fingertips as Iroh jumped in front of her, in an attempt to redirect it.
He took the lightning in his fingers, but because he was so rushed into it, he had no where prepared for it to go, but if he didn't shoot it out, it would go to his heart.
He shot it back out the other hand.

Saki watched as the lighting hit the ground where her feet were and she felt pain ricochet through her body and the ground below her exploded.

Saki and everyone else was shot backwards and everything in her vision went black.

After hitting the wall, Zuko fell to the ground, onto his hands and knees, coughing.
As quickly as he could, he ran towards where Saki had landed and grabbed her arms, shaking her.

"Saki! Saki, wake up!" He felt tears in his eyes and tried to wipe them away whilst shaking her with his other hand.

Iroh was on his hands and knees, coughing. Toph was helping him up and Sokka, Aang and Katara ran to where Zuko was kneeling.

"Get away from us!" Zuko snapped.
(That autocorrected to "get swag" I'm dying)

"Zuko! I can help!" Katara told him.
"Leave!" He blasted an arc of fire at them and they backed away.
