Playing the part

-I've been thinking about it and you should play this new character I'm writing for you. He wanted to be the ruler of the other characters but he learns to be one of them. What do you think? - Jane asks Blake with stars in her eyes with excitement.

-Could he maybe want to be one of them but somebody is trying to make him the ruler? - Jane thinks for a little bit and tries to figure out how to make it work with the other characters storylines.

-I think that's actually a great idea. Nobody wants to have the weight of the world on their shoulders. And he's a young guy too which makes it even worse. I love it. - Blake has a quizzical look on his face that Jane can't decipher but he looks happy overall.

-Okay, everybody, you can make a dress rehearsal without Blake's parts which should be between those scenes I marked out while Blake and I write what's missing. - Everyone rehearses as commanded by Jane and along with Blake she writes the whole time. They giggle and make adjustments and sometimes look back at the dress rehearsal and giggle some more.

At the end of the school day there's some sun rays shining through the dissipating clouds, which was not predicted. Liam, Hannah, Jane and some more of the theater kids decide to walk home together and they invite Blake along. The latter is a bit shy but happy the whole time.

-So Blake how did you get rid of possibly a suspension? Did mommy pull some strings? - Hannah asks Blake, being her daring self.

-Yes, it was exactly that. - Blake answers very shyly making it awkward for everyone.

-Anyway, Blake, I loved writing with you today, you've got a great imagination. It's like you can create a whole world-

-Yes. Thank you anyway. My house is that way and you're all going this way so I'll just go now.

-Okay, man, but promise to come by tomorrow, we're all going to hang out by the pool. It's going to be a bright sunshiny day. - Liam invites Blake which means he's officially part of the group now.

-Will do. See ya! - And very quickly Blake is out of sight which means they can all talk about him but no one dares to say anything for a while. Until.

-He's got a weird vibe. But he's super cute. - Amanda blurts out. Liam and Hannah share a meaningful look. - Not that I've been staring or anything. - Everyone laughs, even Amanda sees the humor in it.
