What can we do to help? - Jane asks.
-If you could take away my powers somehow, that would be helpful. - Blake answers. Jane and I both look at each other, trying to think of something.
-Can't you make it rain for a month straight? Would that help? - I ask.
-For a month it would help, but after that...
-Could you make it sunny and rain and then sunny again and rain again? Or maybe make it sunny in the whole world? Or maybe make it rain in the moon? Or in mars? Or-
-I don't want to mess up this world just so I don't have to take my responsibilities. - Jane and I get quiet for a while.
-What is so bad about having your own universe? Your siblings did it, what did they say it was like? - Jane asks.
-I haven't seen them in so long. They are all over the world in meditation, taking care of their universes. From what I know it's not that bad being a keeper. It's just not the life I want to live. I want to live a regular life. My siblings will never have their own families. The only children they'll ever have are their inner worlds.
-I'll try to think of a way to help you and when I do, I'll let you know. - Jane says. I find myself wishing I had said that. But then that might have been showing a little too much interest. I just nod in agreement.
-Thank you. I can't believe I've got somebody on my side. - Blake lets us know with a smile on his face.
-Jamie is picking me up and we're going out. Do you need a ride somewhere? - Blake and I look at each other and I feel a bit awkward getting between Jamie and Jane's date but I don't know if I want to walk home with Blake.
-Can you drop me off at home? I'd appreciate it. - I don't know why I was expecting something else...
-Sure, come on Hannah we'll drive you too.
-Ok.
.
We're all in Jamie's car. Jane is skipping radio channels trying to find some nice music. I'm looking out the window as I usually do. And Jamie asks:
-How is the play going you guys, almost done?
-Yes, I think so. - Blake answers.
-Kind of sad how you have to do it without Liam. He's a force of nature.
-Yes, he is missed very much. - I had to the conversation.
-It really sucks but now I get to - Blake gets interrupted. This 80's song that Jane really loves comes on and she turns the radio volume way up. We can't hear each other anymore so we just shrug and smile at each other. I turn to look at the car window again, I smile. I think I saw him mouthing what he was going to say.
