Luke's POV
"You don't have to be over here." I said. "I know you don't want to, so you don't have to."
"Well I do have to, so c'mon. Get talking." Michael sighed and leaned back in his chair.
"Why do you have such an anger towards me?" I asked, shaking my head slowly. "I never did anything to you, but you treat me like I've blown up an orphanage."
"I don't have any anger towards you." Michael muttered as he looked off to the side.
"That's such a lie." I scoffed. "You're so hostile towards me and I just don't understand. If I did anything to you, I'm sorry. I really am. But Calum is also my friend and for some reason he treats me like garbage too because you do the exact same thing. He'll always treat me like that just because you do. But I never did anything to you, you have no reason not to like me." There was a pause. "But there has to be a reason. So just tell me."
"You're too.." Michael looked me up and down. "Popular. Cool."
"Are you serious?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"Luke everyone loves you, except for me. So why are you wasting your time talking to me, trying to figure out why I don't like you when you could be happy talking to any of those people." Michael said.
"There's no point."
"What do you mean?"
"They're not friends. They're a group of people that look at me and say 'hey he's cute, and nice. Let's be friends.' Or I get that totally obnoxious G-B-B-F." I scoffed. Michael raised his eyebrows. "Gay best friend forever."
"Oh, I see."
"Ashton is my friend, Ashton is my best friend." I smiled. "But, really? After that it's Ivy, Autumn, Nina, and Perry. Look at all your friends. You have Mikki and Calum, Nettie, Maxx, Dallas, Roni, Kat, and Sonya. And you're all super close. No one is anyone's best friend you're all each other's best friends. Being popular doesn't mean anything when you don't have true friends behind you."
Michael just looked at me, a shocked expression laying on his face.
"You don't know me at all Michael, so what makes you hate me so much?" I asked.
"I figured," Michael said as he leaned forward on the table. "That if I let you be friends with me, you would just discover I am a total geek and not like me anymore."
"Oh, really?" I smiled. "For a second I was beginning to think you were homophobic."
"No," Michael laughed lightly and shook his head. "I'm serious though, something tells me that you wouldn't like being my friend."
"Because you're a geek?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"What kind of geek?" I asked, slightly cautious.
"I don't know, a gaming geek." Michael shrugged.
I smiled wide. "That's adorable."
"Luke you're disgusting." Michael groaned, covering his face.
"Because I said that it was cute!?" I gasped. "Michael I may not be an avid gamer. Like you and the town of geeks," Michael glared. "But, I don't have anything against it either. I just don't think I would play with you."
"To be my friend you have to play." Michael said.
"I..Can't." I shook my head slowly.
"Listen, Luke." Michael said. "I may or may not have given you an improper judgment."
"You did."
"That's not the point," Michael said. "But you aren't really..That bad of a kid. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings and made everything difficult on you. So now I will make it up to you. Okay?"
"How..?" I asked.
"I am going to teach you to be a gamer." Michael said and I burst into laughter. "What's so funny?"
"Michael I will be the worst gamer ever. You're just going to get really pissed at me." I smiled.
"Do you want to be my friend?" Michael asked.
"Well..I would like to." I shrugged.
"Then you have to do whatever I say." Michael said.
"Oo." I smirked and Michael went wide eyed.
"I-I did not mean it like that!" Michael gasped.
"I know, I'm just saying I'm down. Metaphorically and literally." I winked.
"Oh my gosh, Luke!" Michael yelled. "Stop, no one wants to be a part of your gayness."
"You will after I'm done." I said before bursting into laughter at my own jokes. Eventually laughing so hard I fell out of my chair and on the floor. Michael walked around the table and looked down at me with a smile, shaking his head slowly.
"Get up." Michael laughed. "So Luke, if we're going to do this whole 'lets teach the dumb blonde how to play video games' thing. Then I am going to need to you to get a game on your phone, that I tell you to, and then come to my house so I can teach you."
"When?" I asked.
"Well.." Michael shifted back and forth on his feet. "Mikki and I are playing on Thursday night, so I guess you could come over because she wouldn't mind you sucking horrendously. She could help you too."
"Oh. Okay. So Thursday?" I asked.
"Yeah, after school." Michael said, pointing a finger at me. "Like right after."
"Okay." I smiled and nodded. "Thursday?"
"Luke if I say it one more time I swear you won't wake up on Thursday." Michael said with a smile to accompany it.
"Sorry," I breathed as I stood up of the floor. "Okay so - "
"Luke I warned you.." Michael pointed a finger at me.
"I was just going to ask what we were going to play!" I gasped. "Sheesh."
"Oh, well that is a secret." Michael smiled as the lunch bells went off. "See you later Luke."
"O-Okay." I smiled as Michael walked over to his friends and left the cafeteria with them. I noticed Dallas giving me an odd - and unpleasant - look before exiting the cafeteria.
"Huh.." I shrugged. "Guess Michael isn't the only one with ill feelings."
