The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins? ~Edgar Allan Poe

Luke's POV

I was laying on the couch watching America's Next Top Model with my mother when my phone began to ring.

"Who is it?" My mother asked. I looked at the screen.

"Michael." I said. "I think he just got out." I slid my thumb across the bottom. "Hey Mikey."

"Hi Michael!" My mother screamed.

"Um..Who was that?" Michael asked.

"My mother, who by the way needs to be quiet because I'm on the phone!" I said to my mother who just smiled at herself.

"Oh well tell her I said hi." Michael said.

"Michael said hi." I said to my mother.

"Can I interrogate him?" My mother smiled.

"No we're talking." I laughed. "Just sh."

"Fine." My mother groaned.

"Anyways," I said. "Did you just get out?"

"Yeah I did." Michael said. "We need to talk."

"Oh. Okay." I said. "Um..Do you want me to go over there or do you want to come over here? I mean my mum might tackle you the second you walk through the door -"

"I will not!" My mother scoffed.

" - but I mean she's totally not going to hurt you." I rolled my eyes.

"Your mother has some character it seems." Michael laughed.

"Yeah and I've been at your house how many times? When do I get to meet your mum? Or your father." I said.

"I don't care Luke, they're just really busy but I'm sure if I said something to them they would be home." Michael said. "Anyways your mother wants to..interrogate me? Is that what she said?"

"Yes."

"Do you want me to stop over there then and we can talk?" Michael asked. "I do have all your books and stuff."

"Yeah that's fine." I nodded.

"Is your father home?" Michael asked.

"No he's not, he - uh - he works pretty late." I said. "He won't be home for quite a while."

"Oh. Alright. Well I'll be there soon, alright?" Michael asked.

"Yep sounds good." I said.

"Bye my girly boyfriend." Michael chuckled.

"I'm not girly!" I groaned.

"Yeah you are." My mother commented and I heard Michael laughing hysterically on the other end.

"I love your mother!" Michael laughed.

"Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes. "Bye." I hung up the phone and glared at my mother.

"So?" My mother asked.

"Michael is coming over. He said he wanted to talk about something." I said. "Probably about me being suspended."

"I thought you already told him about it?" My mother asked.

"Yeah but I kinda did punch his friend so he's probably not too pleased with that." I said.
