Chapter 5

It's been three weeks since that conversation happened. Today is my Ate and Kuya's wedding. I'm kinda excited because I made a surprise fot the both of them syempre with the help of Alice and Sarah.

Maybe you're all wondering why I am not calling Alice, ate. It's because of her, she said she's my manager so it's fine with her if I call her Alice. People might think I am being disrepectful but no. Alice just really wanted to called her that way.

"Ang ganda mo talaga Miss Maureen." Puna ng makeup artist na kinuha nila Ate.

"Natural beauty, kahit hindi mo na ayusan ng bongga maganda na." Puri naman ng isa pang makeup artist. I just smiled at them and said thanks.

I'm kinda sad right now because I have to let my ate go. But still, i'm happy because I know she waited for this day to come. After those struggles they encounter, dito na ang bagsak nila.

"Bakit nag tahimik mo?" Tanong ni Sarah sa akin. I looked at her and smiled, weakly. "Are you sad?" She asked. I nod but still smiled.

"It's okay babe. Ate Xia will be happy na, she will always be your sister forever naman. 'Wag kang ano, jusko! Smile, babe! Smile!" She cheered me up.

"Aba, ano yan ha?" singit ni Alice. Tinuro ako ni Sarah, Alice sighed bago siya lumapit sa akin at yumakap.

"It's fine, Mau. Aalagaan siya ni Nate okay?" bulong niya sa akin.

They knew how I treasure my ate so much. She was there for me always, through my ups and downs she's with me. And now she's going to build her own family. She's going to took care for her future kids. I know Kuya Nate will take care of her, but still i'm feeling sad. We heard a knock on the room's door. Binuksan ito ng make up artist at ang nasa labas nito ay si Kuya Nate.

"Nate, buti nandito kana! Here talk to Maureen." Alice said. She tapped my shoulder and Sarah kissed my checks bago sila lumabas ni Alice.

"Are you okay Mau?" Kuya Nate asked, I smiled at him.

"Yes kuya." I almost whispered.

He sighed and looked at me. "I know you're sad. But like what I promised you before, i'll take care of your ate. I know how much you treasure her so much and I am going to prove to you that I can protect her no matter what. Cheer up, Mau. Your will be sad if she saw you feeling sad." Kuya Nate said. A tear escape from my left eye, agad itong pinunasan ni Kuya Nate and he hugged me.

After that conversation with Kuya Nate I feel relieved na. I wasn't sad anymore, assurance is all I need. Even though, I know that Kuya Nate will took care of my Ate Xia. It's just that I am really sad at this moment. Pumunta ako kay Ate Xia sa kabilang room after namin mag usap ni Kuya Nate. Nadatnan ko doon si mommy at daddy na maluha-luha, even Ate Xia is teary eyed.

"Sali naman ako sa dramahan niyo." I joked so I can light up the mood. Natawa si daddy sa sinabi ko, si mommy at ate naman napangiti.

I hugged my Ate Xia so tight. I still remember when I felt so down, lagi niya ako niyayakap ng mahigpit. Just like what I am doing right now. I can feel my ate's sadness at the same time I can feel that she's happy because finally, ikakasal na sila ni Kuya Nathan.

"I love you, ate." bulong ko sakanya. She also whispered her answer and hugged me tight. Nakisali na rin sila mom and dad.

"Masisira make-up ko nito eh." Tumatawang sabi ni ate saamin. We laughed at her statement, luckily hindi nag smudge ang make up niya.

"I know Nate will take care of you. But always remember that you will always be our princess ha? Kahit na mag sisimula ka ng maging queen sa sarili mong palasyo, prinsesa ka pa rin namin." Last word of my dad to my ate before we go out. Oras na rin kasi para pumunta kami sa simbahan. Kay ate ako sasabay dahil ako ang bride's maid.
