"it's a pleasure and an honour to meet you your highness" a guest proclaimed as he bowed 

"I humbled, it is a pleasure to meet you as well" tokoyami fumikage, the shadow prince replied as he greeted another guest 

while on the outside, he was polite and well mannered 

wearing a black suit with a purple shirt and black tie 

inside he was sighing in boredom 

another black-tie royal ball, another night of standing at the centre where everyone would bask in his presence

he hated being in the centre of attention, just because he was royalty  

"Why don't we leave to the garden, I know how much you love the scenery in the night" dark shadow, his guardian daemon said in his head 

"I do and that sounds amazing, but I don't know, I might be needed" tokoyami responded with nervousness

"that was the last person to meet, c'mon, if they want you they'll just come and get you" dark shadow continued to persuade 

tokoyami pondered on it, it sounded like it could work, and besides 

it had been months since he did something for himself 

making sure everyone was distracted 

he had ducked out to the gardens before anyone could follow him 

walking through the bushes and trees he sighed in relief 

no people there to stare at him, no more attention 

just him, dark shadow and the garden of black roses 

it was his most favourite place in the world 

so calm and quiet 

it was true bliss 

"well hello there your majesty" a new voice entered his non-existence ears 

he looked up to where the noise was coming from

a boy, probably the same age as him was hanging from a tree grinning down towards him 

he had spikey blond hair and blood-red eyes, he was wearing a red shirt with a black tie and pants 

a fiery bright light was radiating off him 

tokoyami didn't recognise him, nor did he see such bright light before 

tokoyami was only used to seeing the simple purple or red lamps and fires that was the only light of his world 

it was memorizing

"heh, you act as you've never another person before" the boy laughed as he jumped down from the tree 

"Who are you?"  tokoyami, recovering from his moment of amazement

"bakugo katsuki, a mere admirer of this garden" the newly named bakugo responded  

tokoyami wasn't buying it 

"you're not from around here ar-" tokoyami was about to ask folding his arms 

before he felt himself being pulled close to the mystery boy in a grapevine hold 

"you ask a lot of questions your majesty" bakugo smirked 

 tokoyami felt his feathers ruffle in shock before he heard a commotion of voices come towards them 

"your highness" a voice questioned 

"o, over here," tokoyami said loudly as he pushed himself from the smirking boy 

"ah there you are my prince," the royal advisor said as he came around the corner

tokoyami was about to tell them about the mystery boy before he was given more answers then he was going to ask 

"ah it seems as you have been equated by katsuki bakugo, good, starting tomorrow he will be your new personally bodyguard" he began 

"what?" tokoyami said surprised, trying his best to hold his posture 

"he was rescued from that retched place called the fiery blaze, your mother seemed to have seen something that deemed him worth liberating, and said it would be nice for you to spend time with someone more your age" the royal advisor finished, not phased by the princes shocked expression 

"well with that said it is time for us to re-join the party, come now my prince" he ushered as he escorted the raven back to the party

but as tokoyami walked back he couldn't help but look back at the light radiating boy 

"seems we will be seeing more of each other soon, my prince" bakugo stated bowing down wearing the same mischievous smile
