Chapter 18

"You look at it! I don't want to look at it,"

Itinulak ko pabalik kay Nathan yung laptop ko dahil pilit niyang hinaharap sa akin para makita ang resulta ng boards. Nang hindi ko pa rin tinatanggap ay kay Vince naman niya inabot at sabay silang tumitig sa screen.

"What??" I raised a brow at Vince when he looked at me with teasing eyes. "What?!" I asked again, medyo natataranta na.

"What what ka d'yan! Ayaw mo nga tignan," Nathan scoffed and looked at the screen again. "Looks like ililibre mo ako... You did not pass," He looked at me with disappointment.

"H-Huh?!" I started panicking. "Wait! Let me see!" Pilit kong inagaw ang laptop ko.

Hinawi ko silang dalawa para Makita ko ang screen. Nanlalaki ang mata na tinitigan ko yung screen. Naririnig ko ang mahihinang tawa ni Vince at Nathan dahil sa itsura ko ngayon.

My eyes widened when I saw the result.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!" I screamed and I almost threw my laptop because of so much happiness. "Bro! Architect na ako! Babe! Architect na ako!" Talon ako ng talon.

Niyakap ako ni Vince tapos si Nathan naman ay binato ako ng unan. I quickly ran to the kitchen with my laptop.

"Mom! I passed the boards!"

Everyone suddenly became quiet including me. I bit my lower lip when I realized what I called Tita Erica. She was caught off guard and she almost tripped when she's on her way to check the result on my laptop.

"Mom pa nga," I heard Nathan chuckled kaya nilakihan ko siya ng mata.

"I... uh," I was panicking a bit dahil nakatingin lang si Tita sa akin. "Tatawagan ko lang si Mika. Vince, tulungan mo muna sila mag prepare dito." I pushed him to the kitchen at lumabas naman ako, nagpunta ako sa sala para kuhanin ang cellphone ko.

I bit my nails while waiting for Mika to answer the call.

I was cursing at myself for saying that word! Magiging awkward na kami! I never called her Mom before!

"Sis!" Sigaw ko nang sagutin na ni Mika ang call. "Pasado ako! Kamusta naman sayo??" I asked.

"I passed, too!" She shouted from the other line.

"Si Kaileigh na lang!" I shouted again.

Nauna lumabas ang resulta ng board exams ng mga nag take ng para sa architect kaysa kina Vince na para sa engineers.

"A-Are you okay??" I asked when I heard sobs from the other line.

"I'm just happy," She was crying. "I wish he was here to celebrate with me. Do you think he will be proud??"

"Mika," I sighed. "Tapos na 'yun, umusad ka na." I told her.

It's been 3 years since she broke up with Mikel. Sometimes I really thought that she was over it but there are still times when she's so desperate to have him back. Siya lang din naman ang pumipigil sa sarili niya.

"Right! Celebrate tayo! Kahit magkalayo hahahaha." I sighed when I heard her cheerful voice again. "See you in work, Architect Reyes!"

"See you at work, Architect García." I smiled when we can now call ourselves architects.

When I got back in the dining area ay nakahanda na ang mga niluto ni Tita Erica. She congratulated me and I was relieved when it did not become awkward. We celebrated for the rest of the day and for the following week it was time to see Vincent's board exam results.
