A Cabin in the Woods

As they leave the fair grounds yet find a road just a few feet off of it. Getting on it they drive the paved road for a while, passing burnt down houses and decrepit farms until they find a mailbox that is decorated like a frog with Lilly pads on it's back and the name of the family on it. Driving up the long pot holed drive, they head far into the woods until they get to an opening with a small beautiful cabin, an open metal garage that is lead up to it with another driveway and a few tall pines spotting the yard that houses a chicken coop and a few pigeon houses along with a rabbit cage.

Getting out of the car, the woods is quiet, but a calming quiet. Keeping the kids in the truck with the windows cracked and Honey in the car with Tibbs, Daryl and Beth take Bo out to search the property. Upon going up the one drive to the garage, Daryl hears it and hope floods him. Going to a gate that has. Board in front of it, he finds a big black boar and a smaller Black female sow. He smiles with elation at the thought of bacon, but moves on.

"Daryl...there are almost twenty chickens in here with eggs." Beth exclaims with excitement. "And pigeons laying eggs too."

"Found pigs over there...looks like they also had a rabbit."

"Daryl, we're not eating that rabbit."

"I'm jus saying. let's check the house." As they go to the house the front door on the deck is already open, but the front door is locked. Looking around, Daryl finds a key in a small cup and opens the door with a hard push. Going inside, Daryl makes a few calls, but hears nothing. He goes to the bathroom that's right in front of them in the hall, and find the water runs cold, but remembers seeing a wood burner outside, which probably heats the house and the water. Back tracking out that door to it's left is the basement door and he goes down, finding nothing, but a washer and dryer and a few boxes.

Beth, who went to the left when they got in the house that leads right to the carpeted kitchen, finds several art projects and collectables the scatter to he widow sill and the the shelves that border the banister of the open upstairs. Looking up she sees two closed doors and then a pathway leading to the rear of them that leads to the stairwell in the kitchen by the other laundry room. Two cats pop out at her and she pets them, before opening up what has to be the parents room. Looking in there's a big waterbed and thick blankets on the window. Walking back out she opens up the sliding glass door to not only let the cats out but the cat smell. Going up the narrow hidden stairs she finds a bathroom to her right and a small hallways that leads down a tight creepy hallway to what is an art filled room with different crafts and paints. Going back to the top of the stair case she finds the first room full with boxes and again a thick blanket on the window.

The second door holds a boys room, with a camouflage blanket and a few animals mounted on the wall. He leaves and heads around the other side of the banister and finds a small room with a bed in it and it is flush with the a frame of the roof. She peers out the two head sized windows and can look down into the living room. Going down the small winding stair case she finds herself in the living room and steps onto the wooden floor. The couches are brown soft leather and there is a double wide recliner. The curtains at the front of the room hide another sliding glass door and turning around to where she came from is a big stone fire place. Then she finds a mirrored sliding wooden door and hears something behind it. Opening it up slowly she prepares her knife, but Daryl catches her hand just in time.

"Wow now..." He says and let's go of her hand. "Found another bedroom."

"Yeah...I found three upstairs with another bathroom and an art room." Beth says.

"No walkers?"

"None. You?"

"Nope. Shall we get the kids and Honey...Tibbs too?"

"I suppose so." Heading out they let the dogs run around and sniff the pigs and look around the yard and the pool and play set. Going to the garage, Daryl pulls back a top and finds a duel side four seated with a truck bed Honda Ranger.

"Sweet. Got me a hunting vehicle. Whatcha think PJ?"

"Sweet! Can we ride?"

"Don't have gas, less I find some. Anyway, did you see the pigs?"

"Yeah! Mama's feedin' em old fruit and piggy food." He says and Daryl turns back to find Judith sitting in the grass with the two cats from the house and Tibbs rubbing up against her while Honey and Bo start getting in the puppy mood...which reminds Daryl of what he's missing.

"Why don't you go play with Judy and the cats?"

"Kay..." He runs off and Daryl still sees Bo going at it. Beth comes over and kisses him. Running her hands over his chest before laying her head against it.

"Hey..."

"Hey." They both watch the dogs and Beth wants it too and she knows Daryl does also. "Well, I see Bo and Honey are sanctifying the house...we should...later." She says through kisses. against his lips as she runs her one hand over his hardening member.

"Yes...I found the lights work without a generator...solar panels...lets pop the tv on and have the kids occupied."

"I second that motion." She says and feels Daryl press against her hand in want. "You trying to get me to rub you out?"

"Baby, I've been hard since we left the house this morning... I need to be rubbed out." He groans and she looks around the cart at the kids playing in the sand pit and then back at Daryl. She kisses him hard and then seductively looks at him.

"Put the kids inside and I'll meet ya up in the waterbed." She winks and runs her hands across his chest. Quickly he grabs the laughing kids and sprints inside, calling the dogs with him and Tibbs follows. After putting the kids in the bedroom by the living room, he pops in Nemo and leaves, shutting the door behind him and racing to the bedroom. Opening the door he's ready to go at it, but finds Beth fast asleep in the bed and he just can't find the strength to wake her up. Kissing her forehead he covers here with the blanket and goes back to the kids room.

Sitting in the big bed with Paul and Judy laying on him, he watches Nemo and when it's done, shuts it off and covers the children up also, before leaving.

Thinking to himself in the living room, he can't pin point where this all went down hill. It truly is as if him and Beth have been married, had two kids, and live a sexless marriage. How did it come to this? If Monty was still around he could take the kids for a while. If he wasn't around ever, they'd never have Paul and they would just have to work around Judith needing them. But Daryl loves Paul and wouldn't wish harm to him at all, so really he's stuck in this sexless life, which he guesses he's okay with since it won't hand any time soon.
