Jealous

"Dito ka nalang matulog, Ein. Sabado naman bukas. Tsaka, dito rin naman matutulog si Angela." Daphne offered.

Apparently, hindi natuloy ang usapan namin na sa café magpatuloy sa paggawa ng thesis paper kasi maraming tao doon kanina. We decided in the last minute na doon gumawa sa bahay nila Daphne kasi malapit lang naman sa location ng café. We both agreed kaya nandito kami ngayon.

"Pero hindi kita pinipilit, ah?" Daphne chuckled awkwardly.

We were in the living room in their house. Her place is big enough to accommodate all of us. The interiors are in a modern touch with black, white and brown. The furnitures present in here are mostly furnished wood, like their staircase. I like the type of modern touch in the interiors because the colors are pleasing in the eyes.

Bumalik ang atensyon ko kay Daphne na hinihintay ata ang sagot ko. Nakauwi na ang tatlong lalaki sa grupo maliban kay Drew. It's almost 10 o'clock at sobrang late na. Sasagot na sana ako pero naunahan ako ni Drew.

"Uuwi ngayon si Einra kasi ihahatid ko siya." he said and looked at me while smiling, "Right?"

Daphne just pouted habang si Angela ay tinitingnan lang kami. My lips protruded and slowly nodded afterwards.

"Hindi kasi ako nakapagpaalam, e. But if the offer still stands tomorrow—"

"Yes! Yes! It still stands! Sabi mo 'yun, a?!" she cut me off and sounded so enthusiastic.

I chuckled at the tone of his voice at tumango nalang. Angela and Daphne did the high-five na mas lalong nakapagpatawa sa'kin. Umiling nalang ako sa kakulitan ng dalawa. Pinagpatuloy ko na ang pagaayos ng gamit para makauwi na kami.

We didn't have enough progress for today. Si Angela at Daphne ay daldal ng daldal, they are planning about tomorrow's thesis making here. The boys are uncooperative as usual, except for Steven, the nerdy guy. Drew is usually the one who reprimands the two boys pero lapit lang siya ng lapit sa'kin. That made me distracted.

And also, I keep on thinking about him. I am haunted by his words at paulit-ulit ko iyong naririnig. I didn't have the courage to check my phone the whole time baka kasi may text siya doon. I don't even know why I'm acting this way.

"Bye, guys!" sina Angela at Daphne nang hinatid niya kami sa sasakyan ni Drew.

I smiled shortly and waved at them habang si Drew ay kumaway lang at pumasok na sa kaniyang sasakyan. Ni hindi man lang ako pinagbuksan. I exhaled sharply.

Ano bang problema kung hindi niya ako pagbuksan ng pinto? May mga kamay naman ako! I can do it by myself, right? Why am I even offended?

I pouted and just opened the door for myself. I just can't stop comparing him to that...brute. I get it. He's not as gentleman as I thought he is. Wala namang kaso 'yon sa'kin pero...ah! I should really stop comparing them. This is such a crazy thought!

"Sa Forbes ka nakatira, diba?" Drew asked and started the car engine.

I just nodded and attached the seatbelt on me. I chose to look outside the window to look up at the sky. The night sky was surprisingly peaceful today. Stars are glittering everywhere and the bright moon is showing off its dominance up above. I tried to touch the moon's reflection through the window. Looking at the moon has always been therapeutic for me. Whenever I'm feeling stressful or bothered, just one look at the moon and my breathing pattern is back again.

"So..." Drew's voice trailed and he chuckled.

Hinarap ko ang direksyon niya. He smiled at me bago nag-drive. We were on our way outside the village now. Tahimik lang kaming dalawa. I don't want to strike a conversation with him because...just because. Atsaka, na-o-offend pa rin ako kahit hindi naman dapat. Gosh, I hate myself sometimes. Pati ako hindi maintindihan ang sarili ko. That's why people find me hard to understand because I can't even understand myself.
