Grumpy

"Wait, what?!" sabay na wika nila Angela at Daphne.

I crossed my legs underneath the table after breaking the news to them. Inaasar kasi nila ako kay Drew habang kumakain kami sa cafeteria kanina hanggang sa nakarating na kami sa classroom para sa afternoon classes naming. At dahil nga mabilis akong mainis, agad kong sinabi sa kanila ang nangyari kagabi. That's the only way to make them stop.

Nagkatinginan ang dalawa at sabay na ibinalik ang tingin sa'kin. They still looked so shock from what I said to them. I blew an ample amount of air bago napadpad ang tingin ko kay Drew na nasa kabilang sulok lang ng classroom. A girl was talking to him but he looks so uninterested. Simpleng tango at iling lang ang binibigay niya sa babaeng kinakausap.

"That explains why he looks so...gloomy," komento ni Angela at napailing.

Napakurap ako ng ilang beses at tinignan muli si Drew na tinantanan na ng babaeng kausap niya kanina. He looks lonely now at wala ata sa sarili. I felt so guilty again all of a sudden. He told me not to worry about him anymore when we're on our way to our house pero ewan ko ba. Nagi-guilty pa rin ako.

"Ba't mo siya binasted pala?" kuryosong tanong ni Daphne na may mapanuring mga mata.

My lips twitched as I was having second thoughts whether I should tell them or not. Drew is their friend for years now and I am afraid that they might hate me or something. Ganoon naman kasi ang nangyayari sa iba, e. If you reject someone who's popular, you might be hated by many. It's okay for me to be hated by everyone since I don't really care. But it's a different story for the two of them. They are my only friends in this school.

So instead of answering them, I just smiled and changed the topic.

Uwian na ng sinundo ako ni Deonell. No thesis making for the whole week for we're all taking a break. Natapos na naman namin ang Chapter 3 kahapon so okay lang. Dama ko ang mga katanungan sa mga mukha nila Angela at Daphne habang naglalakad kami patungo sa parking lot. They must be so curious about my reason but I remained mum. I still don't wanna talk about it. I bid my goodbye to them nang nakita ko na ang black shiny Mercedes Benz ng sundo ko ngayon.

The side of my lips immediately rose when I saw him leaning on it. Funny how he can erase my worries for today just by his mere presence. Agad siyang umayos sa pagtayo nang makita na akong papalapit. He waved his hands and grinned. He playfully winked at me nang makalapit na ako as he reached for my bag na agad ko na 'din ibinigay.

"You know, I can totally put my bag inside by myself." ani ko habang pinapanood siya na ilagay ang bag ko sa loob ng sasakyan niya.

"Para dagdag pogi points ito." he said to himself pero rinig ko naman!

"Don't tell me this isn't just about your gentleman ego?!" I accused him.

But this brute just smirked and winked at me. "I told you so, you slow woman."

Laglag ang panga ko habang tinitignan siya na parang nagyayabang na sa'kin. He shifted his weight and looked at me cockily. He opened the door for me para makapasok na ako. My eyes squinted at his gesture.

"Dagdag pogi points na naman ba 'to?" pagmamaktol ko.

"Come on, just go inside. Nagpapasikat ako." He laughed!

I just rolled my eyes. "Whatever, Deonell!"

Tumawa lang siya habang hinihintay akong makapasok. Nang lumibot siya papunta sa driver's seat, napatawa nalang din ako sa loob. My heart keeps on beating so fast. Inaamin ko, kinilig ako doon. Wait, am I actually hearing myself? I never thought I would actually say that. Weird but...okay.
