Even though I wasn't in the mood to go, I promised him that I would. I told Jungkook that I would go to the after party of that day's fight, and that I was only doing it so that he could be happy. I left it very clear that I wouldn't go to the fight, since I didn't like watching him fight another guy like an animal.

Jungkook seemed to accept that, even though he was a bit upset, and I decided to say yes to the party so that we could be at peace. Now, Friday night, I was regretting it. The only thing I wanted after a long week of work and school, was to just get into my bed and sleep for forty-eight hours straight.

However, knowing that it would be impossible to avoid my promise, I put on something decent and started to do my makeup. I look better than before, but I'm not radiant. Nothing can cover up these dark circles that seem to be tattooed under my eyes.

My father thinks that I'm going to spend the night with Taehyung, and he accepts without questioning it. I feel terrible for what I'm doing, but I can't risk anything. Sneaking out of my house at this hour can bring big consequences, like that time when I went with Jungkook to the drive in cinema, I almost got caught.

My father walks down the stairs, and much faster than I thought, I quickly put on a sweater I usually sleep with. He looks a bit sleepy so he buys it, but I don't know if I'll be able to keep doing this.

I'll have to talk to my father sooner or later, and I know I can't keep postponing it. I look at my phone and see that Hyerin will come pick me up in ten minutes. I told her to park two blocks away, so that we don't run any risks.

When I grab my purse, my father smiles.

"Are you leaving already?"

"Yeah, we said we would meet up at eight."

He nods.

"Okay, I'll go for my keys."

The blood rushes to my head and I panic.

"What are you talking about?" I ask confused.

"It's late, Areum, let me take you." He answers while he looks for his coat.

"It's because..." I clear my throat, trying to look for an excuse. "We said that we would go eat somewhere downtown, that's three blocks away."

He frowns.

"I didn't know that."

"Yeah, he just told me a while ago." I say, walking backwards towards the front door. "I'll see you later."

I hear him saying goodbye. I practically sprint two blocks while looking behind me, waiting for him to suddenly pop out following me or something. However, he doesn't.

I get into Hyerin's car and I watch her put on some lipstick with the rearview mirror, very focused on her work.

"Start the car, please." I beg and she looks at me confused.

"Did someone try to kidnap you?"

"Just start the car." I answer and she still looks at me. "Please." I add a small smile.

She looks at me confused, but she follows my order without questioning it. The motor turns on and we leave.

"What's wrong? You seem weird..." She asks worried. "Have you talked to Taehyung?"

I shake my head even though I know she's not looking at me.

"You should." She simply says.

"Have you talked to him?" I ask inquisitive.

She shakes her head.

"I've seen him walking with his friends, but he's never noticed my presence... and I didn't want to make things more awkward."

"Thank you." I sigh. "Either way, my life is a disaster."

"Come on, Ara, cheer up, at least Jungkook is with you..." She shrugs her shoulders. "And so am I."

I nod.

"Yeah... the only two people who I haven't lied to."

"Don't be so hard on yourself." Hyerin stops the car and she parks it. "Either way, we all make mistakes once and a while."

"I know, it's just that... my mistake was huge, and maybe if I would've done things correctly, everything could've been different. I just have a lot to think about, that's all."

Hyerin doesn't say anything. It's true, we both know that I need time to process everything that has happened. She just nods and gets out of the car, so I imitate her. I didn't even notice that in front of us, there's a house filled with people drinking and talking.

Some have a really intimidating aspect, and others seem like common people, like us. We enter quickly and walk through the crowds of people.

We reach the kitchen, and I'm not surprised when I see many men crowded and drinking beers. Some are alone, others are with a girl; I distinguish Jimin and Yoongi, who are having a calm conversation. My eyes find Jungkook and like always, a tickle runs through my body.

I walk around the island of the kitchen and towards Jungkook, who then takes my waist when I'm close enough. He presses his lips against mine and I wrap my fingers around his hair. When we separate, I look at him and he smiles.

"You came." He says, and the happiness is clear in his voice.

I nod.

"You knew I would."

My eyes fall on Yoongi, who's eyes look at me firmly. He looks away, and in that instant I remember our short conversation that we had in the car.

"Do you want something to drink?" He asks, taking me out of my thoughts.

"No, thank you." I answer nervously.

He nods a bit thoughtful. I suppose he's asking himself why I look so nervous.

"Do you want to go outside?" Hyerin asks behind me.

I turn around and I see her with Jimin, with his arms around her. I nod and smile, and when I turn to Jungkook, he smiles too.
