My jaw dropped. Harry? What could possibly be so bad about him that I absolutely had to know?

"Harry? What do you mean? What's wrong with him?"

He sighed once again. "I know he can be very charming and flirty and all that.. But, you have to be careful, Violet."

I gave him an annoyed look. "What do you mean, "careful"? Is he dangerous or something?"

"Not physically. Mentally" he said, making me even more confused than I was before. "You see, Violet, he's a womanizer."

I stared at him for a while, thinking. "I don't believe you."

"Ask yourself something. Why would I lie to you about this? If Harry really was the great guy he appears to be, I wouldn't keep him away from you. You seem like a very nice, proper girl, and I just wanted to warn you about him. He has broken a lot of hearts while he has worked here." I couldn't believe what I heard.

Or in a way, I could. It made all the sense in the world now that I thought about it. You meet this great, good-looking, charming guy who seems so nice. Then it turns out, he's a douche.

Or gay.

Yeah, but that's besides the point, shut up.

"A womanizer?.." I was starting to feel gutted. I really thought he was the great boy he appeared to be.

"I'm sorry, Violet. I just thought you maybe wanted to know. I don't want to see you heartbroken" he said nicely. I nodded, thanking him for giving me a warning. I was glad he told me now, so that I didn't have to find out on my own later.

Harry came out in the hallway, looking at me with curiosity in his eyes. Fabio had gone back to his working area, so it was only me and Harry.

"So, what did he talk to you about?" he asked. I hadn't really thought about what I was going to say to him. I most definitely wasn't going to tell him the truth.

"Oh, it was nothing really. Just some schedule planning, that's all" I lied, and it really didn't feel good. He nodded slowly. "Why?" I asked. He glazed the hallway.

"Uhm, nothing. Just checking if everything was okay with you." He gave me those same eyes and that same smirk that he had earlier, and it all made sense now. He was too good to be true.

He glazed me. "Is there something on your mind? You look drifted" he asked. I shook my head.

"Just thinking." I regretted saying that right away. Now he would just get curious, and I'd have to lie to him again. Maybe he'd even get suspicious and try to knock the truth out of me.

Way to go, Violet.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked, not coming as a surprise to me.

"About how thankful I am for this job" I said and gave him a smile. He smiled back, thankfully believing my fake smile. I didn't know I was such a good liar.

Yeah, cause that's something you want to be.

I went back to my office, leaving Harry behind. I had to push him away. If not, he'd get the wrong idea and try something. If he did, it wasn't him I'd worry about. It was me.

He came into my office. At first I smiled when he came in, but it faded. I had to keep my head clear and not go into his trap like the many other girls he had caught.

"Listen, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to hang out tonight or something?" he said.

"Uhm.. Harry, I don't know if-"

"Just to get to know each other, I mean. Nothing more, just.. As friends."

It was hard to resist his sweetness. But I had to stay strong.

He did only say as friends, though. I don't think it would hurt to just hang out.

Yes, it would. You'll get feelings for him, and then he already got you.

No, I won't. Besides, I'll just appear as a mean person if I say no.

Violet, don't you dare-

"Sure, I would like that."

You're an idiot.

I know.

He smiled. "Great! Can I have your number so we can talk about it later? I'm heading home now."

I wrote my number on a note and handed it to him.

"Thank you. I'll text you later, alright?" he said.

I nodded and smiled, before he left.
