I open my eyes from the Ravenclaw four-poster bed and Jamie's squeals remind me of the holiday, except it's not just Valentine's Day for me.
On this day, two years ago, I went to a Valentine's Day dance and Evan decided once and for all he wanted to be with me. Two years ago. A smile creeps onto my face- I hurry to get dressed in a simple blue uniform, unlike the extravagant outfit I could have worn. Unfortunately, school is still taking place on this day even if it is a holiday.
Everything that's been bothering me recently has escaped me, I'm no longer dragged down from those worries today. Evan will make it better, he's always made life better for me. I race to the Great Hall first to see if Evan's there- he's not.
Impatiently, I eat my breakfast and scurry out to wait by the dungeons. Finally, the door opens and out comes Evan with Avery. I almost scowl. It should be just Evan and I.
"I'll catch up to you," Evan says when he spots my figure. Relieved, I wait for Avery to get out of here before I present Evan with a tiny, silver box with a black ribbon. A smirk forms on his lips as he reaches down to peck me on the lips. "You got me a gift?"
"Yes."
"Well, that's good because I did, too." He grabs his own box with a similar size to mine, a bit smaller. The box itself is blue with metallic stars adorning it. The ribbon is laced and bronze- my House colors.
"On three?" I ask.
A nod. "One."
"Two." My hand lets go of his.
"Three." We carefully tear into our gifts, making sure not to rip the ribbon or bend the box. I start to gently untie the ribbon but upon my touch, it untied itself and disappears, leaving the box top. I take that part off two and almost melt at the piece of jewelry.
It's stunning, with several black diamonds encasing the band. One black diamond is bigger than the rest, which is surrounded by silver to hold it in place. If I look closer, I can see the name "Rosier" in the inside. In awe, I can't find any words. This must have cost a fortune, though.
"Evan..."
"Oh, Belle." I had also gotten him a ring- I've been saving up- but I wonder how both of us got the same idea. His ring is all black with silver on the inside, something I just barely managed to afford.
"You put your name on it," I observe, trying to keep my voice impassive.
Uncharacteristically, Evan's cheeks go pink. "Er, yes, yes I did. For a reason, too, but I thought I should wait until we're out of school to tell you."
Curiosity sparks, but Evan cuts me off before I can even speak. "I love this ring. It's stunning."
I smile, and decide I'll just see where this goes. "Let's-"
"Get to class, I hope," McGonagall- who appears out of nowhere even though Apparation isn't even possible at Hogwarts- interrupts. I jump in surprise at her voice, she pays me no attention. Her gaze bores into Evan. "I trust you'll have plenty of work to do to make all of the time you've been out."
Evan glares right back at her, creating an uncomfortable tension. McGonagall clears her throat and stalks off. Evan, making no move to obey her, grumbles, "That toad."
"She knows, doesn't she?" I guess.
"I suspect she's already told Dumbledore what she thinks," he murmurs lowly. "I just don't know why he's permitting it."
"He definitely knows- or maybe his Gryffindor ignorance caught up to him," I say, and I even almost feel a pang of regret at my own words. Oh well, what Dumbledore doesn't know won't kill him.
"Don't talk about Gryffindor ignorance like you're better than us," a girl snaps from behind us.
I stare at Lily incredulously. I thought she somewhat was alright with me, and now she's glaring at me as I caused her parents to be Muggles. When I make no move to contradict her, she sighs and pushes past us, murmuring about not having a good day. Evan snorts as she turns the corner.
Distracted for our own entertainment purposes, we have to run to class to avoid a tardy but the teacher feels like giving us one anyway.

Evan's away, and so are his friends. This is one his missions that are occurring on the weekend, meaning I don't have to go to class without him. I should probably just study for our end of year exams anyway. March and April are already approaching quickly.I've seen Severus around as well during the weekend, although he disappeared for a bit last month. I'm still not sure where he went although I doubt I'll ever find out. I have a pretty good idea why he and Lily are both upset, Severus more than the latter.
She doesn't talk to him at all, she doesn't want to, I can just see it. Poor Severus, one of his only friends is gone and no one can do anything about. It doesn't help that she's dating Sev's enemy.
Although, things seem to be calming down. We're all seventeen now, or close to it, which means we've matured drastically. Potter and Black aren't as malevolent as before, they don't go out of their way to hex anyone.
Severus is still angry, though, and he hasn't matured at all. He's a brooding, mad teenager and all I see him do now is mope around with a grown out, greasy mop of hair covering his face.
I can't say anything to him, though. I wish we could be friends, but things like that come natural. If we aren't meant to be friends, then we won't be.
I wish maybe I could make it up to him somehow.

Evan comes back after the weekend, but leaves about every other weekend after that. When school ends, he'll be a full time Death Eater, a full-time follower of Lord Voldemort.Even the end-of-school exams are coming too fast, with all of theme occurring not even a full week ahead. I studied hard; a bit too hard, perhaps. I may or may not have pulled a few all-nighters.
Still, I'm glad that it's all about to be over. Exams will be finished, and I'll have a few weeks left to be at Hogwarts for my last year.
After this, I'll get a good job, I'll be with my wonderful partner, and I'll get to see my old friends.
I just don't want to leave Hogwarts, after all the good times I've had here.

1. Sorry for the super late chapter.
2. Also sorry for the sucky, filler chapter
3. Sorry that it seems like I'm rushing things.I didn't really know this book series would take so long and I'm kinda getting burnt off from it :((
Of course, I'll still finish the book with maximum effort! Maybe when I'm done I'll take a break, refresh myself, and begin my next book series.
