We arrived at Ashton's and I was still shaking from how he'd take this, maybe he didn't even want to see me since he thinks I made Luke go and beat him up. Maybe Ashton and I just weren't meant to be together, all we did was argue and fight but we managed to somehow come back to one another. Why can't we do that now?

I walked up to the front door with Zayn, he rubbed my shoulders and then knocked on the door. We waited until the door opened, there appeared Ashton in black ripped skinny jeans, a white v-neck with his red flannel and a gray beanie with his hair quiffed to the side. He leaned against the door frame and shook his head stifling a chuckle.

"Is this round two or something?" He asked as he slid the black sunglasses that rested on the bridge of his nose down so he could see us better.

"No, Ashton believe me I didn't tell Luke to do that. He was just upset with you and it just got to him is all." I explained and Ashton shook his head again before looking up.

"Whatever," he groaned now looking back at Zayn and I. "What do you two want?" Ashton asked with a snap.

"What's wrong with you Ashton?" I asked stepping forward but Zayn held me back.

He started to chuckle once again and Zayn looked a little closer, "Are you high right now?" Zayn asked and Ashton shook his head.

"Nah, I was two hours ago." He explained and that's when I realized he was wearing those sunglasses for a reason.

"Ashton stop smoking that, we need to lay low man." Zayn said shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Why, it's not like we'll be caught." Ashton said leaning against the opposite door frame now, staring me up and down with a smirk playing on his lips.

"That's what we came to talk to you about," Zayn mumbled scratching the back of his head. "Liam and Nick are back." After those words left Zayn's mouth Ashton's jaw dropped and he took off his sunglasses looking at Zayn with worried eyes.

"Are you sure?" He asked for reassurance and Zayn nodded. "Fuck." He swore going inside and punching his wall. A little girl walked down the stairs and looked up at Ashton.

"Oh, you're in so much trouble when mum gets home." The little girl said continuing to text on her phone.

"Goodbye Lauren." Ashton growled and she walked away leaving him alone.

Ashton opened his mouth when a little boy now ran up to Ashton dressed in a soccer uniform. "Have you seen my cleats? Mum's gonna be here any minute?" He asked Ashton.

"In the garage Harry, now go." He snapped, the little boy who's name is Harry stuck out his tongue and ran towards the garage.

"Whatever." He called back from the garage and Ashton only ignored him.

"Make's me remember why I got my own place awhile back." Ashton mumbled with a groan. That's when we heard a car honk as it pulled into the driveway. Harry and Lauren ran out of the house and to the car.

"Mum!" They both yelled excitingly as they both got into the car while Ashton's mother got out.

She walked up to us and gave Ashton a kiss on his head, "I didn't know you were having friends over sweetheart?" His mother said, I've met his mother before, her name was Anne.

"Neither did I mum." Ashton sighed now standing straight up with better posture.

"Would you two like to come in?" Anne asked us, we would've said something but Ashton beat us to it.

"Mum don't you have somewhere to take Harry?" Ashton asked trying to get his mother to leave.

"Oh that's right, you behave sweetie we'll be back." She said walking back to the car and getting in it. She waved us goodbye and backed out of the driveway leaving Zayn and I standing there awkwardly.

"So what do we do?" Ashton asked referring to Liam and Nick being back.

"We don't know but we have to protect Addie and Lexi-"

"Lexi, Who's that?" Ashton asked furrowing his eyebrows. I froze unable to get the words out until Ashton kept staring at me.

"My daughter.." I said and Ashton nodded snapping his fingers.

"Oh yeah, that little munchkin I saw when I came over. She's real cute, got your eyes." He said and I felt my cheeks get hot at his comment.

"Thanks." I said running my fingers through my hair. He nodded and started to sway back and forth on his feet.

"So, who's the dad?" Ashton asked a little nervously. That's when I really froze, I've wanted to tell him for so long but maybe this wasn't the right time.

"Um-" I began until Zayn helped.

"Addie, we totally forgot!" Zayn said giving me a look to play along.

"Forgot to what?" Ashton asked confused.

"To get um, Niall's birthday present." Zayn said in a panic.

"It's Niall's birthday?" Ashton asked scratching his head.

"Yeah, we totally forgot. Bye Ash!" I said grabbing Zayn's arm and tugging him to the car with me.

"I'll call you later Ads!" Ashton yelled out to me before I shut the car door. I smiled to myself as Zayn got into the car starting it up before heading back to the house.

i still ship ash and addie but then there's luke and then i become conflicted. this is so difficult!
