Forgiveness

Welcome back

It was chilling inside this white room, quiet too quiet sometimes he thought he was in one of his nightmares.
Sasuke looked at her hand laying on her side he reached for it sizing it with his, so small.
"You shouldn't be with some traitor who turned his back on his own home aren't you afraid that he might turn his back on you too?"
Would he?
He asked Sakura to not let that boy in or any of her team in the sight of him pissed him amazingly
The door opened and Sakura stepped in she said nothing as she walked to the kunoichi in bed doing her job as if he wasn't there but she couldn't it's been  one day and all Sasuke do is come here and stay until the nurses had to tell him to leave many times
"Sasuke she's healing fast you don't have to worry that much"
"Did you fell yet?"
He had nothing to say back but he didn't want to leave yet where else would he be?
This was his one and only option.
"Sasuke you need to leave we have to do our job"
Before she dragged him numbly out he leaned over his wife and whispered something to her ,breathing in her scent as if it would be the last time he would see her, it won't Sasuke knows, Sakura knows everybody know that he would come again the next day like everyday Sasuke let his teammate dragged him with her
Then he was out of the room.
He didn't watch the sun set, he didn't do anything but staying at the hospital it felt like he lost an alley and now he was on his own
"You need to eat something"
Sakura told him but he ignored it
"You're overreacting"
How? They brought the news to him without too much details only that she was laying on the hospital
he breathed deep looking in front of him he didn't want to walk through the villagers and hear their voices he had to his walk in the longer way to his home he would waste some of his time and there was no escape from his thoughts so he would just think for the rest of his night and hopefully tomorrow would be a different day.
Despite his desire in avoiding any human he couldn't ignore the presence around the river
Sasuke walked to that person remembering his screaming the day before
How was it his fault?
He waited for the boy to knowledge his presence too and it took a minute for the boy to speak
"Do you do this too?"
Sasuke didn't answer if this boy wasn't her student he would be buried in the far mountains
"You know whenever I looked at the moon it's reminded me of her"
Curses were caught in Sasuke's throat
Ryu looked down to his feet
"It's a shame that there is no moon tonight"
(Enough)
"How was this your fault?"
He spoke finally and Ryu turned to the older male
"You said that it was your fault, How?"
"I asked her to accompany me to breakfast"
Ryu said his answer quietly as if he was speaking to himself
"And she did?"
Ryu nodded looking to his feet again
Sasuke hated that she agreed more
"I kept begging and we didn't know why we were there so she agreed thinking nothing of it"
Was that suppose to make Sasuke feel better
"We all thought that we were suppose to be hidden from specific people not all of them -"
The steps of Sasuke walking away stopped Ryu's words and the boy went back to drown himself in his thoughts

Kakashi sighed throwing his head on his palms things got worse the council were going crazy after they figure what he had been doing and the hyuga were quiet and it terrified him kakashi knows that something was going in there they wouldn't stay silent especially when the first born of the hyuga's leader was harmed by someone who they see as an enemy
Hinata was in the hospital because he was so stupid
Doing things without asking his advisor and sai informed him that the people in there were suspicious and quiet so they knew about them
He was in a mess.
The door of his office slammed open
Kakashi expected his advisor to appear and lecture him but instead there was standing the last uchiha with his darkest features Kakashi knew that Sasuke didn't came to his office like his usual visits to find answers
"Sasuke what brought you here?"
And for the first time Sasuke closed the door behind him walking slowly to his sensei
"For the first time in years I had a family kakashi i had someone who I could return to, it was a dream i had since I was a kid and you know that"
The old man behind his huge table knows very well
He had lived it and watched the same dream he had grow in his student eyes
"Konoha took away my clan and when i tried to forget about it and start one you all tried to take her away too! What do you have against me? Do you know that sometimes i told myself to wipe this village and then follow my clan to heaven or hell?"
"Sasuke"
A failed attempt to calm the uchiha
"And you sent her there telling them to not appear as if they were from the leaf and then sent a Hyuga! I told you before to not include me in your dirty de-"
Kakashi stood
"Hinata-chan!"
Her name was more than enough to silence her husband
"Is a shinobi before she became your wife, she has her own choices I admit that I made a mistake by sending her there but she agreed without a hesitation knowing very well that it might lead to this , Sasuke Hinata-chan is a shinobi too"
Sasuke pressed his lips he knew how shinobi's life is
And he knows that she wouldn't like what he said but he doesn't have any other way to protect his family his only family.
"This will be the last time I tell you this keep me and my family away from your mess"
Kakashi stared at the back of his student
He wasn't mad Sasuke was scared he doesn't want to lose anyone anymore.
He wanted to live a normal like any other human in this world
Kakashi understood that and it pained him a little the fact that he was trying to protect the only thing he had and the one who almost took it away was him
His sensei.

Hiashi hyuga stared at the young guy in front of him asking for forgiveness for his negligence
He should have done better and protected her better
Hiashi knew that his daughter wasn't suitable for that mission she wasn't suited to be a shinobi.
"Did you recognize them?"
The boy knelt closer to the floor
"Forgive me"
Hiashi tightened his grip on the scroll then threw it away speaking through his gritted teeth
"Until she wakes up I want you to be out konoha until I call for you"
Hiroki hyuga bowed and then vanished from in front of the hyuga's leader who poured himself another cup of tea.
He wasn't someone who drown himself in alcohol he hated the idea of escaping instead of facing
He wasn't a coward but his wife used to bring him tea and it succeeded in relaxing him and that habit was delivered after his wife's death to his daughter
Hinata.
Hiashi stood from his seat and walked to his room but as he walked he flashed the memory of his wife walking in the hallways holding his tea or maybe standing at the door of their room.
Hiashi kept these secret moments he had from everyone.

He had tried to sleep and when he succeeded finally the sun was already rising, Sasuke threw the covers of their bed and walked to the window daring the light of sunshine to blind him.
The sun succeeded and Sasuke closed his eyes they were burning so he poured his frustrations on the curtain when he closed them.
His eyes fell on her table where she used to sit and read for hours or minutes..
Sometimes in the noon and sometimes he could feel her slip from the bed in midnight there lighting her candles and write or read maybe draw
It was small when Sasuke seated himself on the chair Sasuke took what he guessed her dairy
And read it without thinking that this might something personal
Most of it was dark pointing out her failures and never once did she blamed her clan it was her fault what she was writing
Some were a message to her mother and other were wishes to her sister there was a huge part where she apologized to her brother but yet Sasuke found none of his with her..
His name wasn't there he scanned it many times and found nothing only a mention to her mother that she was getting married to a powerful uchiha.
Was that how she viewed him nothing but a part uchiha but at least she mentioned that he was strong
Still Sasuke wasn't happy

Ino left the hospital after visiting Hinata the girl was still asleep once she stepped out she turned and glared on the doors
"Che, Sakura-baka"
Her best friend was still avoiding her since Shino's ceremony Ino looked up to the sky it was noon already she stayed there until it's noon and Sakura couldn't say hi.
Ino huffed and grabbed her bag tight to leave
"Ino!"
She looked back to see another blonde walking to her with his usual bright smile
"Naruto what are you doing here?"
The man laughed sheepishly rubbing his hair
"Ahahah, I just came back from training out the village and I had to see Sakura what about you everything ok?"
Ino scanned his body he wasn't that hurt
"I just came to see hinata"
"Eh! Hinata-chan? Why?"
She looked confused
"Hinata came from a mission didn't you know? She got attacked"
Naruto really looked confused
"No, I didn't know I should go back and check on her"
He turned to leave but Ino grabbed his arm
"Neh, Naruto you said Sakura is there right"
Ino smiled when he nodded
"Then how about I go with you since I want to see her?"

The door of the room opened cutting Sakura's train of thoughts as she checked Hinata.
Her eyes fell in the two blonde she knew as her best friends
"Sakura-chan why didn't you tell me about hinata?"
Sakura's eyes were on the other blonde before she returned them to her papers
"I thought you knew everyone in konha knows Naruto"
He stepped inside to the sleeping kunoichi her eyes were wrapped with bandages
Did she lost her sight?
Ino said she almost what happened?
Before he asked Ino spoke
"Oi forhead come out"
Even Naruto was scared with the tension between them and Ino's insult made it worse Naruto looked to the two Sakura seemed unaffected but he knows she was
"I'm busy Ino-pig, are you blind?"
The future hokage wanted to jump out of the window it was uncomfortable being between them what if the started pulling their each other's hair?
"Shikamaru is waiting for you in the other room"
Liar!
Naruto was about to scream that but the look Ino sent him well it was more than enough to shut his big mouth
It worked!
Sakura rested the papers on the table and followed Ino out, did she became as stupid as him?
After the door closed silence filled the room and he felt throttled this room felt like prison a place where it doesn't suite her
Naruto looked at the hyuga on the white bed wondering
Would she ever be in prison?
A stupid question came like like fly between his thoughts tiny but loud.
The answer of that question was impossible Hinata doesn't belong in these places he could never imagined her there she couldn't fight someone and she preferred to lose her sight than fighting someone and she's a hyuga!
"Because I love you"
"Hinata-sama is willing to sacrifice her life for you"
"Gomen"
His voice sounded loud in the room
Sharp like a broken glass that cut through his feelings and memories.
He blamed her ,Sakura blamed her and every girl in the village who was going crazy over Sasuke blamed and she even didn't want to get in this place.
She was forced
"Clan's duty"
"Gomeneh Hinata"
For a lot of things
His negligence, his ignorance and the way he treated her and hated her.
Naruto held her hand it was warm and-

The door behind her closed and Ino was glaring at her she knows that ino was laying shikamaru never goes to Sakura for treatment he would come ask if ino was here and if she's not he would left
"Spit it out ino"
"No You spit it out Sakura, why were you avoiding me even in work?"
Sakura hated confrontation
So her best ways is avoid it or deny it
"What do you mean? I was in a mission"
But this was ino who knows her like the back of her hand and she hated the fact that she's as clear as glass under those blue eyes
"Was it what I said before? I know that it might embarrassing to meet me and all but I'm your friend"
Ino expected Sakura to understand
But she didn't and it didn't set well with ino
"When did I become a regular friend?"
Sakura stared at the blonde no answer appeared in her head
"Am I still your friend?"
Both females fell in silence staring at each other
Before Ino laughed bitterly
"Wow Sakura" it wasn't a happy one It pained ino and before she knew it she flew out of the room
Sakura stared the feeling of something falling out inside her making an empty space inside her as she stared at Ino's back getting smaller
Do something!
"Che Baka!"
Sakura was ready to run after her best friend but someone caught her arms yanked her hard
"Sakura-chan gomen, it's just that... Hinata she's awake"

She hated to admit it but it hurts.
Ino stood at the top of the stairs looking to the world
"So you finally got a flower to bloom"
Ino fell on her steps down the stairs and between the villagers hiding her tears behind her eyes it burned her throat
"A beautiful flower"
She just lost someone she dearly loved like another half of her she used to see her like a mirror for her own reflection but she won't stick to someone who doesn't appreciate her
"Stop being pathetic"
His words burned in her head like the first time he told her
"Ino"
And then there he was standing between the people
The same person she just thought of
She let her guard down for just once only this time
Ino found herself crying on the Shikamaru's chest

It hadn't been more than an hour after she woke up until her father was there first thing he said was lecturing about her negligence her weakness as if she didn't know them
He hated the tension there reminded him a lot of his days at the hyuga's when they would call her to remind her how she killed her cousin
Naruto left the room Sakura following behind him
"I hate this man"
He hated him too
"Where is she?"
"Calm down uchiha-san"
The voice both Naruto and Sakura heard was familiar the name too they both looked forward to the man rushing the nurse to lead him to her room
Where they took her?
Naruto watched in silence as Sasuke was chasing the nurse with fast steps without being aware of the world around him the air that carried his scent around and blew his dark hair with each steps made the scene in front of The Uzumaki more dreamy like the moments in Jiraiya's books.
And as the two passed by him Naruto knew that his part was short in the story
"Naruto let's go"

Sasuke opened the door before the nurse reach it and opened wide then he regretted his rush there was standing hiashi hyuga followed by 3 younger versions of him the man looked at Sasuke up and down then passed by him followed by his dogs.
But Sasuke didn't mind them his eyes drifted to the hyuga behind whose features fell when the door closed she tightened her grip on the sheets then took a deep breath Sasuke watched her expression changed once she breathed out.
"Is anyone here?"
It's been a long time since he heard her voice
It wiped away any traces of his past few days
They were like years ago.
Hinata started to pat the area around her Sasuke looked around her what was she looking for?
When her hands found the table Sasuke realized
(The water)
Then he pushed it gently towards her hands followed by the cup
"Neji-niisan"
The name surprised both of them and he just watched her frozen on her bed waiting for an answer
Then she relaxed
"I guess it really is my imagination"
Pages of her dairy flipped in front of his eyes
She really remembered someone of the dead but not him! How Rude!
Hinata wasn't aware of the boiling uchiha steps from her.
Sasuke had enough of her he walked as quiet as he came to the door planning on slamming it after him maybe she would really wake u-
"Sasuke-kun"
And then he stopped and then the passing minute stopped and the whole world stopped.
He turned his eyes to her
"It was about time you remembered you have a husband"
Her expression were unreadable he couldn't see through them, was she disappointed?
"disappointed?"
He really need to keep his thing inside and shut his mouth but too late he had said it
Hinata shook her head, her bang swing with her head
"I'm happy"
What?
Sasuke stayed there without moving letting her words play tricks on him
Who said words don't do anything?
"I'm sorry, were you busy?"
"I'm not your clan hinata"
She didn't need to apologize, she didn't fail it was an accident that could have happened to anyone.
"I'm really happy that you came"
He didn't know how to answer especially when she was toying with her hands
Mumbling quietly
"Even before I was happy.. that you came"
His brain took him to where she was seated in front of the clan judging her as if she was a kid.
Sasuke watched her as if she was confessing her love
Maybe the silence around them made her bold to speak and later she would regret it
"I.. used to get scared whenever someone call my n..name I wanted to hide I'm... tired of myself"
He's tired too.
It just things were colorless, all these things that he thought were dull and tiresome
"But.. Now I have you"
They became different with her
"I..have someo..one who I could hide behind and.. someone who I could lean on"
It's always different when it comes to her
"So Thank you sasuk..ke-kun fo..for handling all this"
She fell silent shifting in her bed when she heard his steps towards her and then tensed when his cold skin touched her cheeks at first she thought it was his hand but his scent was strong it was no doubts that his face was against hers when his breathing hit her ears she blushed and he stared at closely at the colors painting her face he didn't stop himself from kissing her cheeks satisfied with the darker color he left on her

He didn't care actually about the news he was carrying to his female teammates ken thought that what happened to his sensei was something a shinobi would face it was normal why were they freaking out?
Their sensei would get up again and face worse just like any other shinobi
But it give him a chance to see her.
"Ren"
"Is true ken-kun hinata-sensei is awake?"
When she received a nod her smile brightened his chest
"Should we go and tell Ryu?"
He really didn't want to, ken planned to spend few hours with her alone not like teammates but something else but he couldn't refuse so he nodded again like an idiot
But it give him the chance to be held by her hand and run in the village

"We need to check on few things and she would be out"
He looked to the dark sky, to the stars she would be home he will wake up to her in her side of the bed
It's a feeling that waved inside him and made his head turn to see his wife at the door of hospital with one of the nurses
Who held into Hinata's hand to guid her to the man standing at the end of the stairs
He reached out to his wife's hand and when their hands connected Sasuke felt awkward but he pushed it aside and lead her until the end of the stairs
When did you become so gentle?
The question appeared in his head suddenly surprising him he looked to her standing there
Clueless of what's going inside him
"Let's go"
Sasuke walked forgetting that the women behind him can't see for now
It didn't set for him that a hyuga can't see and maybe it was one of the reasons he forgot she can't see and left her behind
That's until he felt a tug on the sleeves of his shirt Sasuke looked back and he was grateful that she couldn't see his face or else she might run in fear
It was her biting her lips
He looked down to her hands then held it between his fingers he relaxed when she didn't tensed
They both walked under people's stares and whispers both lost in their thoughts about each other
Until their home came in sight
"We're here"
She nodded
Her husband helped her until they were inside he let go of her and she stumbled to take off her shoes
She thought he was now resting on the bed or went somewhere
Hinata wasn't aware that he was standing there watching her until she walked in and bumped into his arms
She wasn't surprised as much as when she heard him whispering
