The sun shinned over the leaf village
It was a quiet beginning of the day even the sound of birds was heard it was a quiet, too quiet like this village was abandoned for ages
Kakashi looked at the village in front of him
There was no one in sight
Maybe because it was early
Most of the shinobi headed there
To that small place where the war would begin
"Protect your village at all costs"
He will but he didn't want it this way
He tried and only small mistake caused all this damage
Hatake kakashi sent his shinobi after Sai's report about the situation there he hesitated to send them
But he won't let them reach that gate

Days had passed and the day where she would finally take off her bandages from her eyes
But Sakura wasn't here she was sent with all the shinobi there
so some random nurse offered to do the job but he refused what if she make a mistake and hinata lose her sight forever
"It's a simple task"
She said, the only thing she had to do is remove her bandages did he agree?

But he went there too standing over her head watching whatever she was doing he could tell that the nurse was intimidated by his presence especially when he threatens her with only looks

The hyuga opened her eyes gently then shut them again the lights were too strong for her eyesight

Hinata nodded her head
And the nurse stood aside giving Sasuke the chance to appreciate the view of her
"Open your eyes slowly"
Hinata did
Sasuke witnessed it
She opened her eyes slow
To her husband's
Sasuke watched hiding his worries and confusion behind a mask he always put on his face
Hinata's eyes fell on his she felt like she just woke from a beautiful dream where she was allowed to voice out her thoughts and now she was awake
To her reality there was no one beside her husband No hyuga
No elders
Nobody but him
Then she smiled to his eyes
A small one yet real
Sasuke almost spoke his inside

But once he spoke them inside he buried it inside like it was forbidden thing
Like a secret he was hiding from himself
But his eyes didn't left hers
It's been so long since these pearls looked at him
"Welcome back hyuga-san"
The nurse cut their moments waking him from his daydreaming
He hated what he became

He observed from the sky to this small place
With all the life in it, these beautiful natural that surrounded them and those colorful flowers in the small girl's hands they reminded him of the Yamanaka's shop
Such a waste that tomorrow must of these natural would be ruined with the shinobi steps
Despite the beauty of this place his dark eyes didn't fail him to notice the strange movement of the people, They were prepared
For a battle
What was the reason of this battle?

They were what left from their home
Their houses destroyed, burned and many lives were buried without anyone known

He could see the fear of losing what they have again
It wasn't much but those elders and council back in konoha were settling their eyes on it

Sai sensed the leaf's shinobi getting closer
He looked at the place one last time
Saying his farewell to this beautiful place then took off

Their walk home was silent but it wasn't as silent inside his head
The hyuga behind him returned to her old self quiet, looking down whenever she walked it pissed him
He had planned to take her to a tea and some cinnamon rolls but decided against it he won't buy her anything
He had been too soft without realizing as being soft was a crime

He got worried for a second then beat that feeling inside ignoring to resist himself

Memory of Sakura telling him something about Hinata witnessing Naruto's childhood when he wanted to buy a mask the man threw him outside

His vision lowered to her hair it got longer it was reaching her knees now, her bangs too are poking her eyes isn't she supposed to cut them shorter?

It was more relaxing like a dream where there was no boundaries to whatever she wanted to say everything without getting all this stress
She wanted to be as strong as Sakura, as confident as ino and as happy as tenten as useful as them
Cling on her heart that awakened it's been sleeping for a long time ago
But it was awake now
This thought that she dared to forgot

Her chest tightened when she heard that someone called her she wanted to be invisible
But she managed a smile
'Please don't go back in there'

And like an angel ino smiled
But Hinata only nodded trying to squeeze those eyes to show a smile
But in fact she wanted to run
"Neh, how about we go somewhere else and chat~"
Ino damced as if she said the most excited thing

"I ..just came from ho..hospital and.. I'm tired"

Hinata seated herself on her desk, she missed those papers that held her secrets, her escape from her reality.
'Your handwriting is beautiful'

'But your drawing are the opposite'
It was true, the only thing she took from her father was his beautiful handwriting but she wished that she took her mother's skills in painting
But it was hanabi who mastered her mother's skills in painting and it was the only thing she had from their mother.
Hinata reacher for her favorite book
Before the rain
Remembering her first time reading it, she felt every details this book held back at that time when she loved Naruto she understood every words in this book, this was the only thing that reminded her of her beautiful days.
Hinata was already in the third page when the door opened she stood as if whoever came in was a thief
Sasuke looked at her confused
"Go..gomen i..i thought you were som..someone else"
Sasuke wanted to ask who but decided against it
He walked further in their rooms to that window and every now and then he would glance at her reflection she wasn't happy
Wasn't she supposed to be?
She can see now!
She was blind and happy he thought she would be happier he hated looking at her like that and he didn't want to do anything risky like before
So he walked but before he close the door Hinata asked
"Sasuke-kun"
And he wanted to ignore her sound and leave but those feet keep disobeying him
"Did Ryu or ken or ren came to see me?"

Because he didn't let them.
But he couldn't say anything at all
"Ah they came when you were asleep"
Stop laying!!
And she wasn't sleeping!
He hated his smart head for making him stupid in front of her

When she fell silent he walked away and out of his house he didn't even remember what brought him here?

Hyuga Hiashi was pleased by the results of what he had planned, nobody should reject any of his orders

Sasuke made his entrance inside the hokage's building, he walked straight to his sensei's office
He looked up when he heard the slam of the door in front of him it was the Nara who just came out from the kakashi's office he looked upset
The genius of the village sighed rubbing his eyes
The he walked without a nod to the standing uchiha not that the uchiha cared but it was strange to see him stressed like that
Did they fought inside?
Sasuke looked to the door and opened it looking to the person inside
Kakashi was drowned in his papers despite the mask he wore Sasuke noticed the dark rings that circled his eyes, they were swallowed
Kakashi looked up to Sasuke and with that look Sasuke knew that his presence didn't do anything better for the sensei
It was awkward for Sasuke to start a conversation and it was harder when Kakashi didn't say anything else
"You don't look good"
That was Sasuke's question of what the matter?
But he wasn't so good with words
But his sensei would understand him right?
"Ah"
That was the only voice that came out of Kakashi's mouth it made Sasuke a little concerned
"Tired?"
"Ah"
"Because of work?"
"Ah"
"Do you regret it?"
"What brought you here?"
Kakashi looked up and they both stared at each other's eyes
Both trying to read the other's mind
But they couldn't
"How's Hinata-chan?"
Kakashi started looking down to his papers
"Good, she removed the bandages this morning"
Sasuke walked around the office
"So she can use her eyes now?"
"No"
It came sharper than Sasuke had intended but he can't go back now
"the lights are too strong for her now"
He ignored the narrowed eyes kakashi was giving him but finally he answered Kakashi's question
"I came here to ask you a favor"
No response
"I want you to keep her away from whatever is going on there"
He didn't wait for the hokage's response he just left to watch the sunset alone

Gai was looking to the view, he was tired of this chair but he had no choice and nor did he regretted it
He didn't like the idea of being in one place without the joy of training with his team or alone
he at least loved the sunset but he didn't expect to company of his old best friend the hokage himself

Gai never fail in making his lips smile

Despite everything gai still had that wide, wide grin on his face

But Kakashi didn't answer he just sigh
He never speak of the darkness inside it's not because he doesn't trust this man beside him
But he wasn't good with words
"I told you before that every passing day means a new beginning it never the end until you're nothing but a soul"
Gai wasn't someone who can chose his words too but it made Kakashi laugh it never fail
"It's too early for us to die don't you think?"
Kakashi never cared about when or how his life would end he cared a lot about his present
"I don't know about that seeing our students passing our height it make me wonder"
They both laughed and for a moment they felt like too old too old to move their knees and yet it was peaceful for Kakashi

Well Damn that Yamanaka who suddenly showed up in front of him and chose to invite then for a dinner or something because she missed them so much

He didn't attend it and he knows she didn't care
She wanted to catch up with his wife and not him

Sasuke walked inside ignoring the ringing bells and the greetings from the owner
Spotting the Yamanaka finally he made his presence clear for her
"Oi, where is she?"
Despite his attempts to not care about her rolling eyes they really did their jobs getting on his nerves
"Eh you came? Too late she left"
"Che" he turned and walked out of the door suddenly he felt the chills of the night
The bells behind rang and tried to ignore that light blonde hair beside him but how when she started talking
"You should have came"
Since when did his presence was important to her
"Why are you here shouldn't you be with the rest?"
Ino chuckled "you mean Sakura and the others, I wanted too you know but Shikamaru told me to never agree on this one"
"And you trusted him?"
She nodded "more than anyone"
Sasuke shook his head she was stupid for trusting anyone like that so easily
"She talks a lot about you.. Hinata"
A small voice in his head told him to never listen to her
"You know she has a name and your really shouldn't pretend that you didn't care we're not stupid"
Sasuke glared at her
"Not your business Yamanaka"
He only received confusion
"You really didn't notice?"
Sasuke rolled his eyes at her frustrated by her persistence

He saw the size of her eyes grow bigger and bigger with her grin

That's it he will leave why did he wait anyway

And so He walked away
"Didn't know you would turn out like that~"
The voice of the yamanaka mocking him from behind sounded fainted but he heard it

Shikamaru said nothing but he got confused at her big eyes staring at him

He only chuckled nothing really changed on him how did she notice that he looked different and good too?

"And i had honestly called you that inside me so many times but it those boundaries that kept me from speaking my thoughts out for you I didn't want to hurt you"
She did too, calling Ino by name inside her thoughts because Ino wasn't affected by his father's death
And how she moved on easily
She had cursed and swore but not too loud for anyone to hear
"It's those boundaries that keep us away from hurting our dear ones"
She was stressed that she wanted to strip from everything that reminded her of her life before
How come she hated her clan but she was stuck in a marriage which they arranged for her
But she was ok with it
He wasn't like them she felt normal with him
"Oi!"
Hinata turned to meet his husband's glare
But she was relieved to see him
But when he walked passed her catching her hand in his she noticed a shade of red painting his cheeks
And for the first time in a while hinata smiled
