Joey rested his hands ontop of his head as he sighed gently into the alcohol that sat on the table.
Whisky....
He wasnt a big whisky drinker, but he was hurting and stressed and whisky helped numb that.
His father had passed away, he wasnt in Joey's life after the divorce but still...it was his dad and family is family.
Joey never hated him, his mother could be work and could see why a relationship could have been hard.
She was a hard working christian but still there for him despite how she may disagree with him musically.
And if she were to find out about his sexuality. That was an argument waiting to happen.
He raised the glass, shakily, he was pretty drunk all ready he would admit. But he was stressed too.
The original singer for the band he and his friends were working on had quit.
And Joey knew why.
Drunkily they had slept together, it was romantic if you asked joey but the singer was actually straight. Joey felt hurt at that and he felt too awkward around Joey. He also got offered a propotion in another band that apparently was going places.
He also had lost their guitarist too, along with the singer who disagreed with them musically.
After pretty much bullying this poor guy to join they got a new guitarist. His name was Jim and he was really nice, plus talented too. Just what they needed...but much much taller than Joey. The two had hit it off and their other guitarist seemed pleased with him.
But Joey didnt know how to feel about their new singer.
This guy was strange, he had no phone number so no way to track him, he like to appear grungy, and his lyrics where dark. But Joey didnt judge, lyrics didnt always equate to feelings.
He didnt feel to safe around him if he was honest. The singer smelt funny and his eyes looked so dead as if they where once full of life but no more. He was only a little taller than joey and coming face to face with him made Joey compare him to that of a corpse.
The singer had attitude issues as well, Joey would describe him as a bit well obsessive and compulsive, and definitely had his own ideas. He was a ball of fire that seemed to like spreading. His dictionary consulted of swear words and screams.
But this guys vocals were angry, the first time he heard them shivers where sent down his spine, and his ears pricked up. Joey had never heard so much beautiful pain in a scream before.
It was magical.
And he knew he was perfect, yet something made Joey unsure.
But for a guy that sounded so angry, he also had the look of that of a kicked dog.
In fact that's how Joey would describe him. Dog like. Angry with his barks, smelly and dirty and would defienlty bite given the chance.
And Joey did not like dogs.
He sighed as he took another sip as he felt someone stand over him.
He looked up "what?"
"I saw you from over there. A simple hello Would have been nice."
Joey rolled his eyes "apologies. Hello!" He said sarcastically
"Oh...are you busy?" The familiar voice asked.
Joey sighed "yes!"
"Why are you on your own then?"
"...well, uh, I like being on my own."
