Part Four: The Storm

Lucy's POV

He said I'd fall in love with him in a month. I'm sure I will but will he fall in love with me?

L: Why do you seem so sure about that?😂

J: I just am.

He says the words and I believe him but with with my last relationship I don't think I can date another athlete.

L: I guess we will just have to find out.

Jamie just smiles and looks at me.

There is as a storm outside. I guess no one noticed over the music playing.

The power goes out.

Loud bang.

L: are you ok...?

Connor: yeah I'm just eating cake.

Jamie starts laughing.

Le: what's wrong with you son get the flashlight and get in here.

Connor shows up with his phone flash on and the cake.

I laugh and then walk over to grab the cake.

Con: HEY!

L: hehehe I'm hungry ☺️. You can have some though.

Cuc: Lucy you just ate how are you hungry again.

L: well like idk I just am 😂

Con: she is always hungry. She never stops eating. I went to go visit her a few weeks ago and the whole time I was with her I she was eating for the 5 days I was there. Even like right to when she is about to get ready for bed she's eating.

As my brother is telling the story I've gone and ate about a quarter of the cake and Jamie's laughing so hard right now.

My brother looks into my eyes.

And takes the cake away 🤣

I start laughing and he goes and sits down.

Nick after also laughing goes to grab a candle so that there is some light throughout the house. He calls Connor over to start the fire since it was in the middle of the winter.

I get up to help get some blankets and candles for the living room.

Cuc: hey guys I don't want you walking around the house alone because of the power outage. Find a partner and stick with them.

I look around and everyone has a partner except for you guessed it. Jamie.

L: well Jamie I guess we are partners. You want to come help me get some blankets?

J: sure.

I start walking remembering where everything is in the house.

J: umm Lucy?

L: ya?

J: do you think you could slow down? It's kind of dark and idk where I'm going. 😅

L: ohh ya sorry I'm just so used to walking around the house at night. I guess the dark isn't so different for me.

J: you spend a lot of time here?

Jamie turns on the flash on his phone.

L: ya I pretty much grew up here on the weekends. My grandparents used to live here so every weekend all the cousins and aunts and uncles would come over and we would have family dinners.

J: you guys still do that?

L: we try to but everyone is so busy with their jobs, kids, and everything in between. We usually only get a few people here but it's hard to get everyone unless it's a holiday or memorial.
