Ava laid in her bed; Edward was sitting on his bed watching her. She felt his bright blue eyes on her, but she didn't dare turn around and face him. Though she did want to ask him this one question.

"What are they gonna do with me, if they find me?" she asked not turning around but knowing he heard the question.

"What they almost did to me. Strap you up, drain you dry" he said in an emotionless tone as she finally sat up harshly, regretting it due to the pain on her ribs.

"And you were gonna let them? After I saved you?" she asked him.

"I didn't—I can't justify what I did. But all I ask is for your forgiveness, I never wanted this to happen" he pleaded with her.

"Edward, you can't seriously expect me to forgive you for giving me up to your psycho uncles who are gonna treat me like their own little storage of blood" she scoffed and laid back down.

"I know you're not gonna forgive me right away. But that won't stop me from trying everyday for you to" he told her, and she cringed at his words.

"I'm gonna go check in with Justin. Don't follow me" she warned and shoved on her boots as she limped out of the hut and to Justin's truck where he sat in the back drinking a beer.

She walked over to him and sat next to him in his truck. "Can I?" she motioned to the beer bottles that sat beside him.

"How old are you?" he asked.

"If I said twenty-one would you believe me?" she raised a brow and he scoffed.

"It's the end of the world anyway" he sighed and handed her one, she used her knife to take the ca off before she took a sip. It had no effect on her, mostly due to the fact she made some wrong decisions when her father died.

"So, Edward..." Justin started as Ava rolled her eyes.

"Mm-mm, no. We are not talking about him; he's a lying sack of shit and I should've left him when I had the chance" she stopped him.

"C'mon. Let's be real, you're overreacting slightly. He could've been killed, and you couldn't have known he was a double agent" Justin tried to convince her, but she kept her serious face on.

"He could've killed me, well, almost got me killed. Hm" she started and took a sip of her beer then let out a small laugh before continuing "We're all capable of killing each other. It just depends on whether or not we have the guts to do it. And he almost did" she took another sip of her alcoholic beverage.

"Well, even if those uncles of his do come" he started, "We'll be ready" Justin reassured her and threw an arm around the small girl's shoulder.

"Except it's been weeks and not a single things has happened since then, we are ready, yes. But what if they wait so long for an opportunity when we aren't ready and that's when they come to kill us" she said so fast that Justin almost missed it, but he managed to get it all and nodded.

"I'm not letting anything happen to you or anyone here. I mean, maybe you're like Ed, they're just nightmares" he reassured her, and she smiled before snuggling into him.

"I hope so" she smiled.

Malcom stared out his window before turning back to Justin, "You're sure?" he asked.

"The water supply is running low; we'd take from the river but we some DR's in there the other day, we can't risk it. And the only food we have left are the crops. But we don't have any water to help them grow" he sighed and folded his arms.
