"Take them to the cells, do what you want I don't give a shit" Davis sighed and wafted his hand away, rain poured down heavily, soaking the dirt.
Justin watched Davis walk away and he stood up weakly with the help of his men, but he shook them away. And kneeled next to Ava, "Hey! Let's go" one of the men tried to grab him but he shook them away again.
"Small, hey. You okay?" he analyzed her face and ran his thumb over the cut on her lip.
She gave a barely notable nod, he scooped her up in his arms and her head leaned on his shoulder while her arms dangled at her sides.
"I got her" Justin growled at the men.
"Put her down" one of the men said the last part slowly and mockingly.
Justin's blood boiled, "I'm not letting go of her" he glared at the man, he had dark green eyes and a scar from his brow to his nose, he looked intimidating but Justin stood his ground as the man tightened his grip on his gun.
"Justin... put me down. I'm good" a croaky yet clear voice spoke up and he looked down at Ava, her eyes fluttered open.
"Don't touch her or I'll break you" Justin warned and gently set her down, holding her hand as she used it to steady herself.
The man simply nodded at the other guys and they each grabbed Ava and Justin and they both exchanged looks as the men tore them apart, "Justin?" she looked at him before the men dragged her to the cells.
She watched Justin get punched to the ground and her eyes widened, "NO!" she yelled and tried to fight her way out of the men's grip.
"Let go off me you bastards!" she kicked and screamed, she watched Justin get kicked around like he was nothing. Every hit he took she felt it, and it hurt. The man she could call her brother was being beaten right in front of her.
"JUSTIN!"
"Okay, okay, slow down" Xander tried to calm Liv who was practically ranting, "Tell us again, but slower" he folded his arms and stared at her.
She shifted in her seat and grabbed her sister's hand, "They told me to run, they cleared a path and I took my chance. But when I got out I was attacked by the dead. I got rid of them, but it took me two days to get here because I forgot which direction I came from. I couldn't find the hill—" Ed cut her off when she said hill.
"What hill?" he asked and moved closer, "Maybe the community is hidden behind the hill, we find the hill..." he trailed off and look to the group.
"We find Justin and Ava" Luke finished.
"Ava!" Lucas raised his arms up in the air with a big smile plastered on his face.
"Okay, so we send people out and scan the area for this hill? Shouldn't be too hard to find" Sam pushed his glasses up his nose when he finished, catching Luke's gaze and immediate;;y looking away. They hadn't talked in a while; they had caught each other's eyes but that was it.
"We can't send them out now it's too dark. We wait until morning and we go out" Lydia clarified.
Ed scoffed, he wanted to yell and protest, but Lucas was in the room, he just helped the boy of the table and held his hand as both walked out and to the apartment.
Sam walked out with lightning speed and just as he expected, Luke ran after him and dragged him behind one of the buildings, "Why are you avoiding me? We've been best friends for—"
"That's just it Luke" Sam interrupted and bit the inside of his cheek, "I don't wanna be best friends.. I--... I'm in love with you" he spilled out and regretted it the instant he said it, Luke's cheeks went red and he did his best to hide it.
Sam grunted and pushed past him, running away, and trying to focus on what needed to be done.
Ava grunted again and felt the ropes on her wrists start to hit the bone, she was tied up next to Justin as they were repeatedly hit in the stomach and face. Justin looked worse, his cheeks were bruised, he was shirtless, it revealed the cuts and bruises on his chest.
Ava's shirt was torn form when they clashed her with the knife, not causing much damage but it still hurt like hell. Small strands of hair fell out of her ponytail and dangled down her sweaty face.
"Stop" a low vice came from behind them and they turned to see Davis walking into the cell, "Let them rest" he told them in a quivering voice.
"Hand me your weapons, as well" he held out his hand sand gulped.
"You okay boss?" one of the men asked.
Suddenly Davis was pushed to the ground to reveal Ed standing behind him with a knife, the tip of it covered in blood slightly, Ava broke the silence by kicking one of the men and he dropped his gun giving Ed the chance to knock him out. He punched the last one and shot him in the leg.
"Oh my god you're here" Ava sighed as he untied her, letting her rest on him tightly as he untied Justin as well.
Justin coughed and felt his wrists, still weary from the pain he took in, "We need to get out of here, it's a bit intense up there so you may need this" Ed held out Ava's weapon and she smiled, taking it from him.
Justin grabbed one of the guns and loaded it, they ran up the stairs as fast as they could, opening the doors to the outside and stopping when they saw bullets and chaos running everywhere.
"What do we do?" Ava turned to Ed and placed hand on his chest.
"We can't leave, we need to get rid of this place" he told her.
Ava smiled and kissed him, gripping onto his shirt like this was the last time they'd ever kiss. She pulled away and smiled, "Let's do this".
