She stood outside the gas station in nothing but a black sports bra, and black jeans with one of the legs torn. "HEY!" she screamed and was immediately greeted by a DR.
She slammed the hammer into its skull and kicked it back. She spun around just in time to punch another one across the face before it could touch her. She leaned down and gripped it by it's hair, using it as leverage to punch it repeatedly.
She stood up, wiping the blood off her forehead, and making it worse. She stared into the forest and began walking, knowing full and well that there were going to be DR's coming her way in under an hour.
Ava ignored the burning pain in her leg as she walked for what felt like days till she reached a small town. Anger pumped through her veins when she saw one of the men who blew up the warehouse on she and Justin.
She hid behind a fence and waited for him to walk past her before she kicked her leg out and his legs fell beneath him. She covered his mouth just in time and dragged him into an empty house. He was kicking and yelling through her hand, but she closed the door and threw him on the ground.
He was young, younger than her, older than eighteen. "Who are you?" he backed up against the wall in panic. She mentally slapped herself when she realized he was the one standing there doing nothing, it must have been his brother or father who gave the order.
She grabbed him by the shirt and leaned down close, their faces inches apart. "You don't recognize me?" she asked in a fierce tone.
"No... should I?" he raised a brow.
"Shame. It would be nice to know that when I kill you... your family would know the pain I felt when you killed my brother" she said through gritted teeth.
"You're the one from the warehouse" the boy said with slight shock in his voice, the realization was still thick in his tone.
She smirked, "Did you send the horde our way?" she asked him.
He gave her a confused look, "When?" he asked.
She gripped his shirt tighter and slammed his head against the wall, "The barn, I knew the horde would go a different direction and it can't have gotten to us that fast. So let me ask you again, did you lead to horde to us?" she repeated the question.
He gulped, "Yes. We saw you guys go in, and my dad got angry and led the horde to you. When we saw you guys didn't die, we followed you and that's when dad went overboard. I tried to stop him I did but—"
"But you just had to take everyone form me? Is that it?" she asked and grabbed him by the neck, "I lost everyone I had left because of you. I had to shoot the boy I raised, I had to kill the man who I could call my brother. All so you people could live in this town and live happy lives?" she glared at him.
"I did-... I didn't know... I'm sorry..." he gagged and closed his eyes.
She took his knife and held it to his neck, "I'm not" she whispered and raised it in the air.
"PUT IT DOWN!" someone yelled, and she stayed where she was, holding the knife inches form the squirming boy's throat.
"I have to do this you piece of shit" she told the woman behind her.
"Put it down. That's my son" the woman warned her again.
Ava laughed, "You don't get it. You people took the two most important people in my life away from me" she struggled to find the words to explain.
"Wait, wait, wait, wait. Just wait. The man and woman who blew up the warehouse, we sent them away. They're not here. We tried to stop them, but they went crazy about killing you two. When it was done we banished them. Please, let him go" the woman pleaded.
