Quinn, Kiana, and Zayne sat in Zayne's room contemplating what to do with the girl they were keeping. "We gonna stand around with our thumbs up our asses or are we gonna figure out what to do with her?" Kiana broke the silence and Quinn placed hand on her back and rubbed it soothingly.
"We're keeping her here till the horde passes, then we'll let her go" Zayne replied.
Quinn sighed, "Is that it? She can be a resource" she told the other two.
The three of them exchanged looks, "You heard what she said in the cells, last time someone tried to make a cure it didn't work" Zayne explained.
They sat in an uncomfortable silence while waiting for either of them to speak up, "They didn't have as good as tools like we do—" Zayne groaned at Quinn's comment.
"Enough!" he snapped, "We keep her here till it's gone, no further question" he told them before walking out to pay the girl a visit.
Quinn groaned and moved her hand from Kiana's back and held her head in her hands, "Hey..." Kiana lifted her head up and smiled, "Maybe he's right. When has he been wrong about these things?" she smiled, Quinn let out a light laugh.
"I best go make sure he's okay" Quinn nodded when she spoke and stood up.
Kiana sighed and stood with her, "Give it time" she cupped her cheeks in her hands and pressed her lips softly against Quinn's.
Every moment they shared together was precious. Almost like an escape. Quinn pulled back and smiled, "Te amo" (I love you) she pecked her lover on the lips once more before walking away and following her friend to the girl's room.
Ava stared up at the ceiling, she was no longer in that cold cell, but they knocked her out and moved her into a bedroom, it was small, and she was laying on the bed with her hands bound to the headboard. Mostly due to the fact she may or may not have done something awful with a pencil and someone's eye.
The door opened and in walked and another girl, "This is Quinn" Zayne told Ava and she just stuck out her tongue and resumed her stare at the ceiling.
"Why am I still here? You literally said I can leave" she groaned and pulled harder on the roped around her wrists.
"There's a horde, coming out way, you'd never make it out before they tear you to pieces" Quinn told her, Ava could hear the accent in her voice, and she knew she studied Spanish for a reason.
"¿Es realmente el líder aquí?" (Is he really the leader here?) she smirked, and Quinn just chuckled at her comment.
"I like this girl" she laughed and looked at Zayne's confused face.
Zayne sighed and went to sit down on Ava's bed, "Don't sit on my bed" she warned but he did anyway, and she groaned again.
"Look the horde came from the east and it's safe to keep yo—" Ava cut him off immediately.
"Safer? The why am I tie—Wait, did you just say the east?" she came to realization of what he had just sad and her heart stopped. She had come from the east and that's where Freya was, "You have to let me go. I don't care, but I know someone who lives in that direction she might be in trouble" Ava glare at him and felt her grip on the rope tighten.
"Ava we can't let you—" he was once again cut off by Ava grunting and pulling the rope forward and breaking the wooden headboard as the roped slipped off her wrists.
She punched Zayne in the face and just about missed Quinn's grab for her, she grabbed Quinn's arm and stood up from the bed, grabbing the other woman by the head and slamming her head against the wall with just enough pressure to knock her out.
