After I opened up, niyakap niya ko ng mahigpit, I found so much comfort in it kaya nakatulog ako. Nagising ako ng mga alas dies. Wala naman kaming pasok kaya yon. Late nagigising si Es kapag weekends kaya tinitigan ko na muna siya.

Nakita kong nakahiga siya sa braso ko at nakasubsob din yung mukha niya sa may dibdib ko. Naramdaman ko din yung mahigpit niyang hawak sa teeshirt ko.

I smiled at our position. She looked so small compared to me. I tucked her hair between her ears and touched her cheek. Maybe I was too focused on her, I didn't notice somebody come in.

"Oh My God."

Nilingon ko ang pinto at nakita ang kapatid kong si Hayley. With wide eyes, lumapit siya samin. I sighed, signaled her to lower down her voice and carefully put Essie's head down on the pillow. Umupo ako ng maayos at nilagay ang slippers ko. Lumapit ako sa gulat paring nakaturo kay Essie.

"Out. Baka magising siya." bulong ko at tumango naman agad siya pero nakatakip padin ang bibig niya.

Pagkalabas namin ay agad kaming pumunta sa kwarto ko at nakita ko siyang nakangisi.

"What?" sabi ko habang umuupo sa kama ko. Mukhang kalmado pero sobrang kinakabahan ako.

Nakatayo lang siya at nakahalukipkip. "Kuya you don't do cuddles.... I mean you don't even hug me that often!"

I sighed. "I dont."

"But I saw you. With her." She smirked. "You were smiling like a lovesick puppy."

Kumunot ang noo ko. "I was not."

Kinuha niya ang cellphone niya at pinakita ang isang picture ng kanina. "Yeah? Really?"

Tinignan ko yun at nakangiti nga ako. "Well, so what? She's my best friend."

She laughed, loudly. "In denial stage, I see..."

"I'm not in denial." Am I?

"That's exactly what someone who's in the in denial stage would say!" She said laughing.

Ngayon na nasabi na niya... I do act weird and feel weird around Essie. My heart beats fast, I feel happier than usual, I do things that I don't do with other girls, I wake up, excited to see her, when she leaves, I feel extremely down, when Landon and her are talking, I feel... mad.

"What? Are you thinking about her?" Tanong niya.

"How did you know?"

She laughed and pointed at my face. "You're smiling again."

I looked at the mirror and sighed when I saw a huge smile on my face.
