"Hurry up and burst down the boss! It's only got 2% health left." A man in wizard robes shouted in voice chat as he charged up a [Ice Barrage] spell. Around fifty people were still fighting out of the one hundred people who initially arrived. The great beast as tall as a castle before them looked like a half angel, half devil. Had one side of its body blessed by light with clean features and clothes. While the other side was blessed by darkness with goth features and clothing. The raid was called the Seal of the World. Rumor going around amongst the players was that when this raid was finally defeated, the new expansion would be released. The major guilds and solo players all joined forces to clear the raid this time and still lost over half their numbers. At this moment when the boss reached 1% hit points left, the stage glowed. The back lines retreated with practice, while the front liners charged closer to the angel to leave the area that cracked and erupted with beams of light and dark. The attack lasted five seconds, and anyone caught inside was killed instantly. In that attack, another ten people fell as they were too exhausted to pay attention. The fight had been going on for over two hours.
"Healers hurry back over here! We need healing!" One of the men in heavy armor who were bearing the brunt of the attack yelled in voice chat.
"Don't worry, I'm still here aren't I?" A relaxed voice replied. A woman in leather armor with a staff in hand. By her side is a human sized angel in pale blue dress with three pairs of wings wielding a similar staff as the human woman. There is also a white unicorn with silver horn, main, and tail. With a few clicks of her keyboard The angel and unicorn each casted mid level healing spells on the main tank, followed by a strong heal over time spell from each of them. The unicorn then gave a thirty second defense buff and the angel added a shield to absorb damage for a few seconds. The tank that had been at 20% health rose to 70% hit points with a shield to absorb the raid boss's attack as it just swung down again.
The human woman however, was casting healing spells onto player's tamed or summoned beasts. The beasts controlled by players were just treated as extra damage, so most of the time the pets were the first to die, since the players didn't bother to control their movements and left them in area of effect attacks. Lucia's class was a summoner that specialized in supporting her summoned beasts or tamed beasts. She was one of the solo players invited because she was known for being worth three healers in one. As a specialist, she could summon up to two pets at the same time of her choice as long as she has mana. Her mana regeneration was quite high thanks to her build and the buffs from her class, and the unicorn pet also gave her increased mana regeneration. She also had decent awareness of when to use spells so she doesn't over heal. Her pets heal the players, while she heals the pets. Her buffs on the pets also increase their effectiveness and survivability. In the raid she kept close to the tanks and always made sure to keep her pets at her side so they would evade attacks with her. She was essentially playing three characters at once as she manually cast their spells as well as her own. Constantly changing targets from player to beast to player. In the special tracking tool, her healing was second behind the best priest class only because it didn't count the healing she gave to pets.
Dozens of spells and ranged attacks flew through the air again at the raid boss. The health bar was down to a barely visible sliver on everyone's screens. Just as the end was in sight, the boss started to wind up for a big area of effect attack that would require the tank to spin the boss. However, the last tank would end up dead and then the boss would start to cleave through the remaining players. Lucia used one of her unicorn's spells, [Pure Sacrifice] on herself and ran behind the boss.
"Pass me the aggro, I have [Pure Sacrifice] on!" Lucia shouted. The tank only hesitated a moment before using a skill called [Threat Transfer] that made the boss focus on her instead. The tank player quickly retreated out of the boss's area of effect just in time for the raid boss to swing with it's large half white, half black sword. Lucia saw her hit points drop to zero in an instant. After the attack finished, the main tank regained the attention of the boss, and Lucia clicked the button that appeared on her screen to revive where she died. She quickly re-summoned her angel and used it to heal herself back up to half her hit points and she switched to shooting out magic missiles at the boss. The [Pure Sacrifice] spell sealed her unicorn for half an hour when she was killed while the buff is active. The other reason she didn't summon a second pet was that it takes thirty seconds to summon without the aid of the instant summon spell which had a long cool down. Finally, the boss's health hit zero and an announcement rang out across all the servers of the game.
"Congratulations to Server Seven for completing the Seal of the World raid!"
Everyone in the raid room cheered while the raid leader, the wizard who shouted earlier walked over to the raid boss's body to collect the loot. However, as he touched the half angel, half devil's body, it shone with a blinding light followed by darkness. Everyone on Earth who wasn't in the raid group felt strong earthquakes beneath them and soon blacked out as well. All humans disappeared from the Earth's surface while the Earth itself underwent a drastic change. Volcanoes erupted, tsunamis raged along the coasts, tornadoes swept the land, and sandstorms were whipped up across the deserts. The Earth was evolving, but what happened to it's creatures?
