Absence

"Ang aga mo Ziya." Puna ni Kuya sa akin habang nagmamaneho siya ng kotse. Nasa tabi lang niya ako.

I decided to be early as possible to work. Okay, I'll admit it. First is, I don't want to see Eros na magkasabay kami, or makita ko siyang aalis din sa condo niya. Remember, magkatapat lang kami ng condo.

And then, second is I hate being questioned by some of my friends habang naglalakad pa lang papuntang office. I don't know if the news reached them, pero I think may mga nakakaalam na sa nangyari last week. Good thing ay hindi kumalat sa internet.

"Anong maaga, eh quarter to 7 na Kuya." I checked my smart watch. Umiling lang si Kuya.

Hindi pa nga 'to nagbihis pang trabaho eh. Naka plain white t-shirt lang si Kuya tsaka naka khaki shorts! Worse pa is naka tsinelas pa 'tong gago!

"Wala nga akong trabaho ngayon. Supposed to be matutulog ako e." Napakamot sa ulo si Kuya.

Tumawa na lang ako.

It's been a week and Kuya's living with me. 'Yung ibang gamit ni Kuya ay inilipat niya lang kagabi galing din sa condo niya. Aniya'y magbabantay daw siya. And for the suspect's update, all I know is nakakulong na.

But there's something off, ang bilis atang makulong, or did they already convicted it as guilty? Ni hindi ko nga nakausap ang suspect!

And for Eros updates, hindi ko siya nakita man lang. Or kahit coincidence lang kami na magkita sa condo. Wala! Hindi rin siya nagtetext. Siguro He's healing or resting. Wala rin akong balita sa kanya, eventhough I badly want to hear some updates from him.

"Nakausap ko si Eris kanina. She said that the first trial would be on Monday. Kailangan ka daw sa court."

"If my presence is important then I should go."

"You should draft your sentence. Kung ano ang mga possibleng itanong ng Attorney nila. You have to be consistent." Kuya Dell glanced at me.

I sighed, "Uhm, kilala mo ba 'yung suspect Kuya?" I asked.

"Carlos Valderama. He's somewhat related or relative ni Cecelia. Hindi ko pa na-confirm. I'll ask Ervin about it."

Kumunot ang noo ko. Ibigsabihin it has something to do with Dad! Ang alitan nila Dad and Leoncio! Or I don't know! naguguluhan ako.

"So, related 'to kay Dad? Tell me Kuya, anong connection ni Madam Cecelia kay Dad?"

Kuya remained silent for a second. " I don't know if you would gladly hear it. Cecelia and Mom are bestfriend since high school. Then, Cecelia supposed to be married with Dad, kaso Dad was accidentally let's say Dad made a mistake. He mistaken Mom as Cecelia. You knew, Dad's a party boy. Nabuntis niya si Mommy. And then the marriage of Dad and Cecelia was called off."
