A Deferred Asset

Chapter 3

"Ah excuse me."

Tinawag ko ang empleyado na biglang umupo sa cubicle na malapit sa akin.

"Yes po?" Tugon niya.

"Kakarating mo lang ba Ishaani?" Tanong ko.

"Hindi po. Kanina pa po ako dumating, bumaba lang ako para bumili ng breakfast." Sagot niya sabay ngiti sa akin.

"Oh okay. Have you seen the person who put this here?" Itinaas ko ang stuffed toy na hawak ko at agad siyang napailing.

"Sorry po. pero hindi ko po nakita eh. Bakit po? Ano pong meron dyan?" Tanong niya.

"Kakarating ko lang kasi tapos nakita ko to sa desk ko, so i thought someone put this here or someone mistaken my cubicle as someone elses." I told her.

"Sorry po pero hindi ko po nakita eh. But if you want to know who's the person is, you can check the CCTV's footage. I can help you." Tugon niya at agad kong winagayway ang kamay ko upang humindi.

"No thanks Ishaani. It's fine." I lightly chuckled.

"Kung sino mang naglagay nito dito, edi thank you." Tumawa ako at iniligay nalang muna sa gilid ng desk ang stuffed toy.

"You can now go back to your cubicle. Thank you." I smiled at her and she smiled back as she went back to her cubicle.

I fixed my desk and filled it with the office supplies that I bought yesterday along with some cute stationary stuffs which I'm in love with. I bought an organizer to arranged some stuffs and some pens, notebooks and sticky notes as a reminder paper for me that I always forget a lot of things. Minsan nga nakakalimot akong may nakaschedule palang meeting, kaya mas mabuting may ganitong nakapaskil sa tabi ng table calendar para madali kong makita at maalala.

"Ah hello Miss Raimondi."

Napaangat ako ng tingin nang biglang may tumawag sa akin. "Yes?"

"Miss Cohn is waiting for you in her office." Ani ng lalaki.

"Oh okay." Sabi ko at saka tumayo at naglakad patungo sa office ng head of the finance department na hindi naman kalayuan sa mga cubicles.

I knocked first before stepping inside. Miss Cohn smiled lightly and gestured me to sat down on one of the chairs in front of her table.

"So if I'm not mistaken, today is your first day at work right? The official one." She stated and I simply nodded.

"I already oriented you yesterday about your job description and now I'll be handing you the unfinished papers na iniwan ng dating manager." Aniya at inilagay sa ibabaw ng mesa ang mga papel na nakabundok sa dami nito.

"This is quite a bunch of papers, but don't worry we won't be asking for these instantly since bibigyan ka namin ng panahon na mag-adjust. But, if you will be able to hand all of these before the month ends, it would be much appreciated."

"I'll do my best Ma'am." I politely said and bowed.

"Okay then. I'll call Uriel to help you carry these." Aniya at saka may pinindot sa telephone.

"Okay po." I stood up. "Thank you Ma'am."

Dahan-dahan kong inilagay sa braso ko ang ilang papel na kaya kong buhatin at sakto namang pumasok yong sinabi niyang Uriel na siya ring kumausap sa akin kanina.

"Thank you." I said to him after he smoothly placed the papers on top of my desk beside the computer.

"No problem po." He bowed before he left and with that I started to work on the papers.
