A Deferred Asset

Chapter 16

"Ang swerte mo naman, may pa bulaklak galing kay bebe Uriel." Ani Xadrielle sa video call in the middle of our working hours.

"May pa necklace rin, sanaol." Dagdag naman ni Ishaani at nagsisimula na naman nila akong asarin.

"Kung matapunan man lahat ng paperworks ko ng coffee tapos ganyan yung apology, ay girl, kahit everyday matapunan, I'm good. I can handle." Xadrielle giggled.

"Malandi ka." Suway naman ni Deachy.

"Kaso, Uriel turned down his own feelings." Ulat ni Ishaani.

"Ay? Give up na siya? Hindi pa nga niya nasisimulan." Tugon ni Xadrielle.

"Maling desisyon." Dagdag naman ni Deachy. "Bakit raw?"

"Baka naannoy niya raw si MISS REI kaya nahihiya na siya dito at baka mas lalo pa niyang mainis ang bruha kung ipagpapatuloy niya." Ani Ishaani at naalala ko ang sinabi ni Uriel kanina sa harap ng katrabaho namin.

He was like confessing his love, but throwing it at the same time.  Naguilty naman ako sa sinabi niya, so I apologized but he did not accepted it because I have nothing to apologized for. He said maybe it will be better, if we will stay as friends and I nodded to accept his friend request. It was a lunch full of stories to tell, and I enjoyed celebrating my birthday with them.

"I'll just treat you on Sunday girls." Tugon ko para tigilan na nila ang pag-uusap nila tungkol sa amin ni Uriel, 'yong nangyari kanina.

"Or how about, on Saturday tapos magsleepover kami sa apartment mo Rei." Deachy suggested.

"Pwede rin!" I exclaimed, imagining how things will work out if we will going to have our sleepover. "That's a great idea, Deach."

"I agree, para naman magkasama tayo ng matagal. Minsan na nga lang tayo nagkikita." Tugon ni Xadrielle at tumango ako.

"So ano? Saturday night? I'll be treating you for dinner then let's have some fun in the apartment." I said and they all agree. After a minutes of talk, tinapos na namin ang video call at nag-uusap-usap kami ni Ishaani.

"Excited na tuloy ako." Tugon niya. "It feels like my teenage days."

"Same. Then with all those funny chikas, knowing us andami nating dada. I'm so excited." I giggled.

I finished my paperworks and then I left the office early because I need to go to the restaurant to meet with my old workmates. It took me 15 minutes to arrived at the restaurant and I immediately ordered a food na maeenjoy nila. While waiting for them, I played LaVille to kill the time kasi alam kong matatagalan pa sila.

Agad akong napaangat ng tingin sa kalagitnaan ng kanilang pagkanta at sumilay ang ngiti sa aking labi nang makita ang mga dati kong katrabaho habang may hawak na balloons at cake. They've been doing this for three years now kaya hindi na ako nagulat.

"Thank you guys!" I said to them.

"Blow! Blow the cake!" They cheered and I did blew the cake. I asked them to take their seats and the foods have been served.

"Kumusta yung DZGC Miss Rei?"

"May boyfriend ka na?"

"May gwapo ba doon?"

"Ano? Tinuturing ka ba nila ng maayos doon?"

"May nagkakagusto na ba sa'yo doon?"

Hindi ko alam kung saan ko itutuon ang atensyon ko dahil sa sabay-sabay nilang tanong, kung kaya't itinaas ko ang kamay ko para huminahon silang lahat.
